why does a phone need ai acceleration
This I suspect is pretty simple.
If you ask Siri or most voice assistants a question it's sent back to a bunch of servers as voice and decoded there. If you run that code on your phone now Apple doesn't need that bandwidth or the "AI" servers to process most of it. And they've made the customers pay for the hardware in their pocket instead of having to buy even more servers.
 
I don't have an iphone because I'm not an apple retard, Death stranding is 75gb, how big is the average iphone storage?

Mobile games, even ports, seem to be able to do some ungodly amount of compression. Alien Isolation on mobile is only like 10gb on mobile vs 35gb on PC.

Qualcomm also had raytracing before Apple actually, and to my knowledge a few games actually use it such as Diablo Immortal. As for AI acceleration, one of the most common uses is image processing, especially things such as filters.

I bought a few games on iOS when I was using an iPhone, and most of them are completely inaccessible now. Bastion was literally changed to a F2P model where you get the first part of the game for free, and they didn't even grandfather in anyone who bought the first version.

Nobody seems to care, and the handful of people that do complain just get Apple fans up their ass like "lol just rebuy it again, it's only a few dollars". Try that on any other gaming platform, and you'd have riots. iOS piracy isn't really feasible either, and there's practically no sideloading, like on Android.

More powerful hardware in an iPhone will only be useful to keep the ever-increasingly bloated software running smoothly, which is great if you're excited about having even worse battery life.
Yea like I said earlier for some ball crushingly retarded reason Sega released the only ever official English version of SMT 1&2 than like a year later it was taken off the store never to appear again. Also they completely removed the original versions of the Final Fantasy games they had and now you can only buy the more expensive Pixel Remastered versions. I know I bought some mobile Assassins Creed games on iOS like more than ten years ago now and that’s long gone and even though I spent money on them I can’t redownload any of them.

Apple’s ecosystem is definitely the type all the other game/media creators want. They want complete control of what you can download and play. They want you to spend money on something they will happily remove a year or so down the road.
 
No clue man, I have a iPhone but it’s a pretty old model and I only have it because it was free lol. Honestly I don’t know why anyone would want to play their games on a phone let alone off of Apples shitty ecosystem. Still don’t fucking understand why the only English release of Shin Megami Tensei 1 and 2 were god damn Apple IPhone store exclusives and then not long after erased from existence.
SMT2 hasn't gotten an official English translation.

I would hope they remembered how to use compression but even RE Village is 35gb on ios.

These seem like glorified tech demos. Port of a few PS5 is a lot easier to understand for most people than bar graphs for an announce like this, and more performance somehow is a selling point for a phone most people are going to use to for instant messaging and shitposting.

It's genuinely really annoying Apple makes such incredible processors and it gets wasted on Apple products. Similar performance at the same TDP from Intel or Nvidia or AMD is trash.

I mean, apple did make the Apple Pippin years back but it suuucked. Apple does a really shitty job of making its systems game development friendly.
 
Sony usually silently drops the announcement of PC ports a few days after a State of the Play, in the hopes nobody will notice.

They still have Demon's Souls remake.
 
In coming indie shit, pointless 3rd parties no-one cares about, 25 mins of spiderman 2 and a token, throw-away effort for VR2.

Sony have made a genuinely good headset and are not supporting it at all. Give me some old remakes you fucks. Like Kings Field in VR
