Funny how Nintendo doesn't censor games but Sony does.

I have all the major consoles, an analogue pocket and a PC.

I can't remember the last time I turned on my PS5, I think Sony is back to being arrogant. When they closed Japan Studio that's when I realised they've fucked up.

Also where the Fuck is bloodborne PS5 Patch or PC version.
The Gamecube version of BMX XXX was uncensored while the PS2 version was censored. You could look at poorly rendered titties on a Nintendo console in 2002 and there wasn't a Hot Coffee outrage over it.

I think that's literally the only PS4-exclusive, Sony published game on the entire platform that I'd like to actually give a solid try, but that's another game where I have it, but not a working console. I got maybe an hour in.

If they'd just port that and Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise to PC, I'd have absolutely everything from the PS4 I want on PC. What an overrated trash console.

I would also take a Switch port

I think it's 2 if you include the weird DMC5 thing

WTF Sonysisters? I thought we were the singleplayer company?

Sony just doesn't have the kinds of first party exclusives they did back in the PS3 generation, despite the claims of their fanboys.
Ehhh...
I mainly play Ratchet & Clank and Little Big Planet, and for the past two years I think I got the best entry for both series, so Sony is not untalented. I do wish they would do more with older IP, but this is a good start for coming back from the dead space that was PS4.

Well of course they're better, the PS3 has no games.

Elden Ring managed to beat the record of best-selling PS5 game in Japan debuting with 90,017 units on the first week. Previous record was Resident Evil Village with 74,644 units last year (lifetime sales, started at 38,713 units on its first week)

Up to be seen how Gran Turismo 7 (March 4th) , Stranger of Paradise (Mar 18th), Relayer (Mar 24th) will fare in comparison

I was interested in grabbing GT7 because I am a big fan of the PS1 and PS2 entries and just want something to play on my PS5 but I'm giving it a pass on account of this always online bullshit.
The best part is that we don't have to wait to see the results of the always online fallout. GT games since the PS3 games have been notorious for shutting off online servers within 6 months of the new entry launching. Now that GT is always online, GT Sport (while shit) will become a coaster and probably put heat on GT7 for its future paperweight status.

I want to see them turn Gran Turismo into a Sony single player experience. Cars have trannies.

Team Asobi apparently got the OK to do stuff with Ape Escape and Gravity Rush and a non-reboot Sly Cooper is in development.

Finally the atrocities and sins of Ape Escape 2 and 3(and the fucking awful Move Spinoff) can be righted.

Apparently it's just your fairly standard career mode but based on what I'm seeing and hearing, it's maybe a bit too, plain for what it could have been? Still beats the crap out of Gran Turismo Sport but that's not saying much when that game was entirely focused on just extensive time trials with a lot of multiplayer features, if you only played solo and offline you were pretty much fucked with sport.

It is very strange when you consider the approach of other Sony Studios when their main focus has solely been on the one player narrative experience, like with God of War, Horizon, Ghost etc. But that's more reflective of what the western market wants I guess, they've obviously found that it was far more worth putting more time and effort into focusing on a platform always online style racer as you can squeeze more money out of people that don't want to do the grind and entice them to take up all the microtransactions, and make sure people aren't cheating/breaking the game, especially when it's the direction they're going with the Gran Turismo now, it's a more larger multiplayer driving focused experience, rather then a growing career based single player style game.

If you're looking for that, best off just sticking with GT 1-4.

Apparently people mostly stuck to online when given the choice. What really is weird is that many like the new photo mode to show off their cars and shit to social media. They seem to want to grind races to unlock new cars to just to take pictures of them. Basically it all devolves to Cosmetics just like CS GO and TF2 did.

I was honestly hoping for an offline racer myself but those are getting harder and harder to find anywhere. Even series like Dirt have loads of always online bullshit tucked in there.

"Ape Escape" anything?
Proof? I was burned 2 years ago when they were playing games for the 20th year celebration by just posting merch on Twitter.

Also Ape Escape 2 is good and 3 is almost as good as 1. I'll give you the Move shit though.

Asobi is now the legal holder of the Ape Escape trademark among others as of last year. They're being very secretive but Astro's Playroom plays just like an Ape Escape game and that was made before they had the rights. Both the Ape Escape and the Sly Cooper rumors emerged at roughly the same time. Which IIRC was before Ratchet and Clank because that had the first Sly Cooper Easter egg.

Maybe I'm just jaded, but I'm playing GT7 on my PS5 right now and am pretty underwhelmed by how it looks. I mean, it looks fine, but I was expecting to be blown away. It really doesn't look appreciably better than the Horizon games from last gen. I wasn't following the development very closely, but I'm assuming it was scaled back to accommodate the PS4? I don't know, I expect Gran Turismo to be the benchmark for console graphics, and if this is what we are to expect this gen, I give it a big, hearty "meh".

It's also 110 goddamn gigabytes. Jesus fuck I miss just being able to put a game in and play.

Just saw this on Ali Express:

And the stock photo they used pretty much sums up modern gaming with the bros:

I thought it was funny.
That stock image bothers me because none of their hands are on the proper analog stick. Also I'm pretty sure that it is not craft beer in those mugs.

That's not really a product intended for mainlanders, because the PS5 has actually caused many PC gamers in China to switch to consoles. This also accounts to why digital sales are up because former PC gamers are used to buying just digital.

I mean, they didn't really have much during the PS3 generation either, the best exclusive was Demons Souls, a game Sony actively sent out to die and publicly called shit before it came out. The only reason it even ended up being good was because Sony idiotically tasked Fromsoft to make a competitor to Oblivion, then Miyazaki just lied to them about a bunch of shit regarding the game. Outside of Demons Souls there's not much. You have two middling FPS series with Killzone and Resistance, the Uncharted moviegames, The Last Of Us, and what else? White Knight Chronicles? Folklore? Floaty Jump Planet?
