Sony hate thread

Minor nitpick, but I hate how PS4 trophies are delayed after completing said task TO unlock the trophy.
This is a real annoyance for me. Considering the ps5 takes a screenshot when you collect the trophy. I had to turn it off. Because in nearly every game i have, it gives a trophy on a blackscreen after you do what you need to do to unlock it. The SSD is full of pictures of black screens for complete chapter 2 trophy's. Sony needs to set some standard where trophy's unlock. As it may as well not be a feature, if it is this broken. If it is going to insist on creating a jpg, why can it not be in game artwork or something made by the devs?

Xbox One decided on using banners as achievements. PS4/5 still use square JPGs for trophies. Not even PNGs. And yes, black screen screenshots that take up space are annoying.

The PS5 version of Gran Turismo 7 has been reappearing on the japanese Famitsu charts for a while and with decent numbers at a first glance, despite the game came out months ago. I don't know much of the franchise and @Thiletonomics is certainly more knowledgeable on the subject, but the game doesn't strike me as an evergreen title, as in the kind of game that strikes the fancy for a large amount of people (enough to be continuously sold).

---

It actually turns out the physical PS5 copy of Gran Turismo 7 is sold alongside with a brand new PS5 as part of a bundle set in Japan since late May, and a lot of them are being scalped as well. So I suspect GT7 game sales on PS5 to be inflated. And it's worth to mention the PS4 version doesn't get such numbers in comparison.

Also, the Klonoa 1+2 remake sold 8 times the number of retail copies on Switch compared to the PS4 version on the 27th week (while the PS5 version nowhere to be found on the chart).

The green bar shows both versions have the same percentage (~40-60%) of the shipped stock left.

In regards to those PS5s bundled with GT7, scalpers aside, I wonder how many of them actually play or played GT7, given how people were not happy with some of the game design decisions with the game.

So, while doing my weekly grocery shopping at my local Wal-Mart yesterday, I figured it was finally time to do some investigative journalism and see if the PS5 shortage was felt in my neck of the woods. To spice things up a bit, we're going 90s console war on this bitch and comparing stock of the Big Three side by side.

Ho-lee shit. I was expecting them to fare better than the other two, but not by this much....they had every model of the Switch in stock, and they even had Animal Crossing special edition models available! Needless to say, if you are one of the casual gamers @Smaug's Smokey Hole described above, or are a Nintentard who for some unfathomable reason still hasn't bought a Switch (and have the disposable income to do so) you aren't exactly starving for choice here.

Next came the Hex-Box:

Meager compared to the Switch, but still respectable. I noticed they only had the Series S, and not the Series X, but still, if you absolutely had to have the newest Xbox right then and there, the option is available to you.

And finally, the moment of truth....

......lol. LMAO, even. Nary a PS5 to be found on the shelves. I actually get why Sony-ponies are coping so hard now. Not only do they have no games, they have no consoles to play those non-existent games on. Sad!

lol, the PlayStation shelves are all disheveled. No PS4s or PS5s, yet a full stock of controllers for both systems. Looks like it might be an equal amount of controllers, too, which is funny considering they're not cross-compatible. And worst of all, 16 empty shelf slots across two cabinets. I guess there just isn't enough new and noteworthy coming out between both consoles? They don't have any Greatest Hits games up there, either.

Xbox has only one cabinet, but just four empty slots. They even have copies of Minecraft with the 2022 box, neat.

And yet, Switch is packed to the brim, not a single empty slot, and they're at a disadvantage, considering Switch game cases are smaller.

Sidenote: clearance XBSX controller; it might be a good deal if you need one for PC. it's probably like ~$40 but Walmart clearance prices are all over the place

"This just means no one wants anything related to Nintendo except the soy Nintendrone autists who aren't the truest of gamers like me who hate grinded every Korok seed in BOTW. Nintendo probably only sold 2 Switches in the last month, while PS5 sold 2 million on Ebay! You aren't factoring the Ebay sales!" ~ Marissa Moira, probably as they look for proof to explain why they're right.

Well the amount of autistic miasma surrounding God of War Ragnarok is usually something reserved for a series like Zelda or Final Fantasy.

It is nigh palpable, and just think at the end of the PS3's cycle, nobody gave so much of a shit about Ascension. It's a beautiful thing what they've done, now only if they could create an IP that spawns as many lore videos as a Fromsoft release.

Shut up, nigger. No one wants to hear your stupid NZ nigger opinions.

Really? I haven't noticed anything. Big games have hype that can be felt even if you don't care about them and with Ragnarok there's nothing. I'm sure it will sell well but lets not kid ourselves and say there's Zelda hype. There's not even Kingdom Hearts hype going. It's more like "Ubisoft Naruto" hype, I think those games were pretty popular as well and people like Naturo.

I C WAT U DID THAR!

Still, too bad CORE DESIGN were the ones that developed the game. Sony was just a publisher. I know this because I had the Sega Genesis version which was published by Virgin Games. VG also published the Sega Genesis version of Chuck Rock 2, which IMO is better than the 1st game.

I did the same yesterday. Let's see how I fared:

Nintendo:

A couple Switch Lites, a few OLED Switches with OG Switches. And plenty of controllers and headsets.

Xbox:

Okay, I saw only three Xbox Series S consoles. No Series X's. But plenty of wired/wireless controllers and a couple wheels.

Now let's see how PlayStation is doing:

1658152651364.png

A VR headset but NO PS5!

1658152715525.png

Not even any PS5 controllers (the ones you see on the upper left are PS4 controllers). Yikes.

I even went to the counter and asked when will another shipments of PS5s come in. Store clerk told me that Walmart will never stock PS5s IN STORE due to an increase of thefts, ambushes and fights because of limited stock.

And this was a NICE Walmart, the ones that don't ask to see your receipt after checkout.
