I love how the entirety of progressive white Twitter and white progressive game devs are defending this game while black gamers have been brutal with their criticism of this game. I will be honest, at first I liked the idea and premise of this game. I did not care if the protagonist is a black woman because who gives a fuck? However, the main character and the writing for this game exemplifies everything wrong with modern writing. They tried so hard to rip off the MCU with the main character and writing. The MCU and its consequences have been a disaster for writing and story telling. Back on topic, the main character is obnoxious, foul mouth and ill tempered. I never thought Sony would make a worse female protagonist then Abby but here we are. The world is boring and bland. The gameplay is repetitive. The only positive thing I can say about the game is that it isn't obnoxiously woke like The Last of Us 2. In fact, most of the criticism I have seen is for the writing and world design. Hopefully with both this game and High on Life failure silent protagonists will make a comeback.
