Oh, no, I agree. That said Rivet apparently had a much more... shall we say, mature design until Sam Maggs threw her hissy fit and screamed Lombax titties at everyone until they changed it. That said Sam Maggs basically had them redesign Black Cat to look like her and I have to wonder what else she had them change in the meantime.
Nah, Nintendo is pretty bad too. Out of the three in terms of politics they're the least worst, but the way they're treating the eShop shit where Sony is actually keeping their store up is the kind of shit Nintendo is known for. Basically, "Fuck you, buy this" is their mentality and always has been. They hate anyone even trying to archive the games or amiibos - which are even more limited - and keep them around. Not even Sony goes after those people like Nintendo does. I'm hesitant to say this, but I'll take political retardation over that level of greed.
Fact is, the big three are equally awful in their own ways. That said Microsoft seems to be making the biggest effort to offer legitimate access to old stuff now, but so is Sony. Shame they're both politically retarded because all the new stuff they offer is just bland and boring safe trash. Which I guess is why they're trying to offer a legitimate means to the old stuff. What we need is a new contender again. A fourth player if you will.

ugh This bitch falls into the category of battshit insane. It's bad enough she was put into a position where she got to fuck up one game/character.. but for some reason people kept hiring her over and over. The Rivet thing is probably the worst for not just what she caused to the character and design, but also her behavior. Just imagine this nut running around yelling "lombax tiddies" while people tried to work. She even tried to take credit for the creation of Rivet.. Thankfully other members of the team set the record straight. Hell, she even tried to say Rivet was a lesbian, and this was years after leaving the team and company. lol

I also meant in terms of Microsoft and Nintendo. I don't think we would have gotten Switch or Gamepass, at least not in their current forms, without Sony being the market leader. Then again that also has to do with the current Nintendo/Xbox presidents being better than their retarded predecessors. I still feel Sony being #1 at least keeps some of the other's worst ideas at bay.
Sexy, but it sucks that Web of Shadows was pretty meh.

I think a smug Sony is a bad Sony. Sony historical has performed better when they were not in the lead and had to try instead of set the cruise control.
If you like Sony and actually want them to succeed long term you would want them to have enough of a set back that Sony of Japan takes back decision making power and rights the ship. You would also want Sony Corporation to hire better leadership in their TV division and actually outperform Samsung so the company has a bigger balance sheet and can actually do more.
If you think Sony in its current trajectory is headed for success long term you are wishfully thinking or living in a delusion.

That's true, they're each flawed quite a bit. And we do need a 4th competitor again. Sega pipedream aside, it's hopefully going to be Steam. I'm surprised it's taking this long for a 4th one, I know it's a difficult and expensive risk, but I'd at least expect some handheld competition.

Don't forget one of the reasons they did. The western side of the gaming division absolutely hated it for "reasons." They passed on bringing over quite a number of 1st, 2nd and 3rd party games published by sony japan. And generally did everything they could to not support it. (cutting off a lot of potential western 3rd party support) This was right around the time certain types and gaming media in the west started with the anti "weeb" and fanservice games memes about the systems. The same people who later took over the gaming division entirely and basically told the japanese side and "weebs" to fuck off. Funny coincidence that is.

I'm surprised the ugly character from Returnal isn't in there. I don't know some of these characters, but I assume nothing of value was lost given the politics.
And as said before, Sony operates better when they've fallen behind the pack. All of a sudden censorship, diversity and putting up LGBT banners in June magically don't matter and they have to make games again. Conversely they're also the biggest smug bullshitters when they're at the top.

I know, it scares me too, but I'll take companies that leave alone people archiving the original unaltered stuff - before wokeness took over even - over a company that will sue you into oblivion for trying to keep a piece of history. Nintendo makes the RIAA and MPAA blush with how ruthless they are on these matters. If it was just regular "I want your money, I'll suck your cock for money" greed that's fine, but Nintendo is the one that demands you pay to suck their cock. That's not the greed we want.
With Nintendo, of course they want money the same way hookers in Las Vegas do, and that's because they're a huge corporation, and even the consoomers who support Nintendo's dumbass ideology have been absolute retards for years.
