Destiny 2 got crossplay but I think Bungie had to bend over backwards to get Sony to agree (probably lead to the buyout now that I think about it). They probably super don't want Minecraft crossplay because it requires you log in to a Microsoft account. With Destiny its a Bungie account, but now Sony owns them.

Is Sony even offering anything to Microsoft in their list of childish demands? What reason would Microsoft have to give them their demands if they aren't offering anything in exchange?

I think they finally did add it. If you log into your Xbox account from PlayStation Minecraft, you’ll get an entry for “Minecraft for PlayStation” on your achievements list. It has zero achievements. Every other platform, even Switch, grants Xbox achievements in Minecraft.

In the 90s and 2000s, they (eventually along with Microsoft's then new Xbox) were already seen as a mature alternative to Nintendo, something that outdid Sega with the target audience. Both Sony and Microsoft were best known for implementing live and voice chat during gameplay. Nintendo became popular for all audiences again in the mid-2000s with the Wii, and that was already seen as fun for "the whole family." Ol' Jimbo can't defend his own company he's in charge of.

Before departure from that shithole, I dreaded doing matchmaking because the Playstation players were consistently utter shit at the game, Xbox players were a bit better but still retarded. Playstation players would literally just AFK the entire mission, or repeatedly run into a group of enemies and just die repeatedly, they also didn't like to revive you.

Wasn't it about how PlayStation gamers don't play old games, so who cares about preserving retro classics?

I mean, sadly, he is correct. The modern PS installbase is comprised of normies that vomit at the sight of anything older than PS3 at best, though it is more like 2-3 years. The saddest part is YouTube is now flooding me with PS2 nostalgia, but Sony has dug themselves so far deep into the nu-Playstation brand that they will likely never capatalize on the growing trend of PS2-PS3 classics.
