The nigga likes Final Fantasy and listed off a bunch of Western properties as games he hates, so... how about Japanese PC games?

Dead or Alive (and the volleyball game series.) He could oogle at T&A without worrying about transwomen.

  • Bunny Must Die
  • Rosenkreuzstilette
  • La-Mulana 1 + 2
  • Pseudoregalia (not Japanese, but it's a good Jap-inspired 3D platformer)
  • Faith - the Unholy Trilogy (also not Japanese, but a good spoopy game)

Nope, this is a perfect example of more detail != more visually appealing. That second panel is grotesque.
Jesus fuck, I stopped reading Penny arcade a decade ago, but every time I see a comic my only conclusion is s that the art gets worse and worse.

If this doesn't happen in the game I don't want to play it
Modern comics are shit, but this panel always gets a chuckle out of me.

Dude, you don't need to go nuts about PC exclusivity. Yes, PC only Japanese content is meager, but you pretty much get every single mid tier and above Japanese game that is multiplatform. 10 years ago you would never see these on a PC and now it's common practice, you get Ys and Legend of Heroes, you get Tales, Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Monster Hunter, all From software games, you get basically all of the hip JRPGs (and others) outside of Final Fantasy which comes in with some lag and the Nintendo exclusives like the Xenoblade trilogy that you can emulate anyway. To get our poor boy @Michael Wade to give PC a try you just need to make a case for "you can basically play everything you could play on a Sony console (Final Fantasy will always end in PC now and you can wait out the exclusivity time and also rack in the obligatory DLC it will accumulate in the meantime) plus emulate the fuck out of every prior Sony console assuming your rig is potent enough to emulate PS3 (and if I can emulate Demon Souls with the 60fps mod with my desktop that is definitely in "old territory" now, you can get something that should be able to get there). Hell, the humble steamdeck will set you back as much as a PS5 but is so much more versatile on what you can do with it if you don't want to go through the process of building an actual desktop computer.

It feels so premium, every time I used it I was impressed. Steam Deck is always a great suggestion.

If @Michael Wade ignored the Nintendo Switch because he found the platform too kiddie despite the gargantuan amount of japanese games there (regardless of exclusivity), I again sincerely doubt they would be of any effect on PC or even Playstation. Also his post on the previous page makes me believe he does seriously struggle to find things on his own beyond what's merely mainstream, and doesn't seem to enjoy them that much regardless.

Seems more to me he needs to take a break rather than anyone laying out full lists of vidya recommendations.

Maybe, but it seems more to me unwillingness to leave his comfort zone. Basically, gaming is absolute shit right now if you do anything mainstream. You don't have to dig much though, but it does involve getting your hands a bit dirty, but it's also never been easier to set up an emulation suite for example and Steam is retard proof as well as GOG and similar platforms and there are a million guides on how to build a rig and you really do not need to go anywhere near high end to have a computer that can play a ton of enjoyable stuff.

But hey, if he really is just burnt out/doesn't want to look into things and he gets another hobby that involves touching more grass, odds are he will be better off anyway.

That could be the case too but assuming he already owns a PS5 or a PS4, he should try out a few japanese games there at least (to expand his horizons) instead of investing right now on a gaming PC setup for them. It would be a considerable waste of money otherwise.

I would easily recommend Earth Defense Force as my number one videogame, since he mentionned a bunch of shooting titles

Personally, while I had a natural fondness for mangas and playing some japanese games during my childhood, I didn't become a full weeb until the Playstation Vita days. Something like Atelier Rorona was difficult to get into at first, but nowadays I can play any Atelier game without batting an eye and enjoy them. The slippery slope is real. Western media progressively becoming less and less appealing sure did help that shift of interests too.

Adding onto this, get a Windows PC (yes, it has to be Windows), install RetroBat, add roms and bios, and you’re done. If you’re stuck with Linux/Mac, you could get EmulationStation Desktop Edition, but it’s definitely not as good for a variety of reasons. Or if you want a dedicated system for emulation, you can install the Batocera OS, but you’ll have to SSH in to add roms.

Someone recently discovered that the "Spanish" version of Spider-Man 2 alters the Spanish language to be inclusive. To the point of it being grammatically incorrect.

Anyone who knows Spanish is fully aware that it is a gendered language (i.e., certain words are said differently depending on the gender of the person being spoken about). But the devs for Spider-Man 2 completely rewrote the language for the sake of their faggot-ass inclusivity.

There's an iceberg's depth of pandering in this game. It's ridiculous. Imagine forgoing spending time working on a quality video-game in order to do this fucking shit to a foreign language. Nobody in the Spanish-speaking world wants their language to be butchered like this.

I want to see just how bad the other languages are butchered in the name of "Progress" , becuase this alone is just too hilarious.

This got posted by Paul Tassi, from a 'source'.

Lorraine McLees is gone, she was around since 1999. I believe she drew the original Halo logo, and did a bunch of art for Halo. She also voiced the Pelican pilot in the flashback cutscene of The Flood in Halo CE.

Michael Sechrist, another composer who joined during the Destiny days, known for 'Deep Stone Lullaby' has also been fired and has updated his site to say 'Gone Fishing with Salvatori'

They had a bunch of composers, Michael Salvatori, Michael Sechrist, Skye Lewin, Josh Mosser, C Paul Johnson, Pieter Schlosser, Roten Moav, probably a few more I missed. They probably decided to trim it down to the cheapest composers, which means getting rid of Salvatori and all the others. It's interesting how they had so many composers and yet the music is worse than when it was just Marty and Michael doing Halo, or Marty, Michael and C Paul doing Destiny 1. It's worth listening to the Destiny 1 vanilla OST if you like Halo's music, even if you don't like Destiny. Music of the Spheres alone is some of Marty's best work.
Not MotS but a banger.

The whole 'Armor and expressions' QA team got wiped, which honestly good riddance. Armour post Beyond Light became overdesigned shit, and they were probably behind the abysmal transmog system and the over monetization of everything.

Paul Tassi followed up that tweet

Tassi writes some pretty atrocious stuff but he seems very keyed into Destiny so I trust him when it comes to shit like this.

I mean Halo is dead and live service games are falling out of style and bleeding players.

What does Bungie even have left?
Marathon, the live service extraction looter shooter being made by trannies skinwalking an old beloved IP.

I expect them to go under. If they ever try to switch back to old 'box product' games as they call them, nobody at Bungie, neither the management nor the devs, know how to do a single product anymore.

Paul Tassi got a message from Salvatori
1698780307897.png

I hope he goes back to working with Marty again. Marty's stuff is still good without him, but its missing something, and the same with Salvatori's stuff without Marty, but generally Marty was the classically trained composer while Michael was the rock band guy.

Jaime Griesemer is coroborating Paul Tassi's source

Marty also retweeted that, then tweeted this:

and of course twittards seething over him being a 69 year old boomer who supports israel

I'm unsure if Marty is still working at Highwire or not. Turns out the composer for Six Days in Falluhjah is some chinese guy that says Marty handed it off to him before he retired. I don't think he ever announced his retirement or anything, and bungie sicced the destiny simps onto him and made him erase his youtube channel and go radio silent for years, and now people still hate him because of bungie's campaign against him.
