I guess women shouldn't have any hobbies, interests, careers, etc. They should just become obsessed with what their man is doing, even if it involves risking their fucking lives, and obey his every wish. Thanks for teaching me how to be a misogynist, Insomniac!

It was the other way around. Peter gets infected with the symbiote and it eventually spirals into what can only be described as mind control. And, by the way, the suit has never actually worked this way before and it is an incredibly lazy way for it to work at all.

In the comic books and the 90s TV show, the suit made Spider-Man stronger at the cost of inflating his ego. The symbiote didn't control the person wearing it; it enhanced the raw potential of what was already there. This is why Eddie Brock turns into a hulking monster when he transforms and why many female symbiotes would become far more voluptuous. The symbiote gave its wearers their heart's desire, so to speak, but at a cost. Eddie wants to be a brute, so he becomes a brute. Women want to be sexier, so the symbiote accentuates their curves. The suit was analogous to drug use and addiction. It made you feel good or look awesome as fuck but would have a hidden cost on the wearer over time.

MJ in Spider-Man 2 fucking knows Peter has essentially been under mind control the whole time. Not only that, but he has been fighting in a warzone day after day, risking his life to save the people of NYC. Yet, even after all that, she has the audacity to get all angsty and upset when Peter isn't giving her enough time or attention or being supportive as she pursues a worthless career as a keyboard warrior. And Peter has to apologize for everything and tell her she is correct. It's fucking disgusting.

It's even worse than I thought. I hope MJ dies at the end of that game.

It would be nice to get a Spider-man game like GTA or Red Dead 2. All the mission arcs could be random villains from the comic books and it would definitely benefit from the random small missions that appear in the map of Red Dead 2. Instead we get an empty open world with a dogshit storyline and copy & paste side-missions.

Apparently Monolith is working on a game like that which will use the nemesis system from their Middle Earth series. Gal Gadot is (thankfully) not involved and neither is Sweet Baby inc. Though Sweet (piss)Baby inc is involved with the new Suicide Squad game. Alas, it's about Wonder Woman, so it will most likely be shit. I sincerely hope we don't lose Monolith like we lost Insomnia.

The "diversity readers" got them.

This subject-matter also runs in tandem with what @PaladinBoo was saying earlier: that the Spider-Man 2 devs pushed BLM logos into their product despite folks like Blackrock denouncing them. In other words, they pushed outdated woke virtue signaling. Not only are they clueless about the real world, they aren't even up to date on where the current woke narrative is.
Video games take years to make. The woke narrative changes monthly, weekly, even daily. There is no way for video games to keep up with the woke narrative, which is why its foolish to even try. Your game would just date itself to do so.

This has been one of the most difficult weeks in our studio’s history, as we’ve parted ways with people we respect and admire. We’ve spent this week supporting one another, including those who are at the studio, as well as friends and colleagues who no longer are.

We want to acknowledge the feedback and concerns you have about Lightfall and recent Seasons, as well as your responses to the reveal of The Final Shape. We know we have lost a lot of your trust. Destiny needs to surprise and delight. We haven’t done this enough and that’s going to change.

To us the path forward is clear: We need to make The Final Shape an unforgettable Destiny experience. We want to build something that will be regarded alongside the best games we’ve ever made – a fitting culmination that honors the journey we’ve been on together for the past ten years. Forsaken, The Witch Queen, and The Taken King – these are the standard bearers we aim to live up to.

We are intensely focused on exceeding your expectations for The Final Shape. Destiny 2 has more than 650 dedicated teammates pouring all their energy and expertise into delivering this epic moment and its subsequent Episodes.

In the weeks ahead, you’ll be hearing more from us about what’s next on the short-term horizon, beginning with our next Season in late November. Afterwards, we’ll begin to unpack our team’s bigger, bolder, and brighter vision for The Final Shape, as well as the bridge we plan to build to take us all out of this Darkness and into the Light.

See you starside,

The Destiny 2 Dev Team

I wonder if the gay Destiny Community will fall for their "promise everything, deliver nothing" schtick again.

Imagine going back to 2009 and telling Halo fans that Bungie would become a dead gay studio with no gaems. They'd never believe you.

The reddit hivemind is pretty upset, but at most they are just cancelling their pre-orders, because the sunken cost is so strong that they can't just drop the game. But its always been like this at the end of every expansion cycle, once it comes out they will soypog and forget everything.

Also seeing people who are just saying to buy it from a key site instead. These people are incapable of quitting.

Why is Destiny relevant in 2023? I thought the universe unanimously agreed that Destiny will never be fun.

Both Destiny and Destiny 2 were engineered by the laziest studio in existence to the specifications of the lamest man in existence to be the most boring game in existence. The result is a videogame that's prescribed by doctors as a cure to insomnia.

I've been *really* surprised at how many Destiny/Bungie fan channels have popped up all over my Youtube feed since the layoffs came out.

I seriously thought it was a dead fucking game like 2 or 3 years ago.
the real question is, how the fuck destiny got a sequel? thought the original was panned for being very short and having a boring story

It's got hundreds of thousands of daily players, or it used to, down to like 30k now. The game constantly tops the steam charts, but nobody ever talks about it outside the destiny circles, its amazing, its like Avatar in how little it has affected the pop culture community.

So, tranny Wonder Woman or just ugly? I couldn't tell from the trailer.

I genuinely have absolutely no fucking idea. I'm a little biased because I mostly play RPGs and strategy games and think looters are boring but literally everything I've seem about Destiny makes it look like Borderlands 3 if it took itself more seriously.

It looks generic, soulless, and corporate as fuck, how people find it compelling enough to put 10,000 hours in is beyond me.

The shooting has good feedback and the movement is very fluid. It has the best crouch slide in any game I've played. But beyond that its addiction formed from FOMO and every predatory tactic ever.
