I honestly thought GoT was pretty mediocre. I played it and was just like “eh”. It was ok. Still just another Sony movie game.
There is plenty of criticism to throw at it, but movie game isn't part of it.

The fact that you call it a movie game makes me think you didn't actually play it.

Wait the kid isnt Kratos kid? I didnt even make it through the 2018 one so I have no clue, if his really not his son thats hilarious.

Dialogue like this also got people's almonds roasting. I remember some faggy podcast actually thinking this was legit, but saying raising another man's kid was a "chad move." That's how entrenched some of these Sony soyboys truly are.

I did play it but whatever you say.

It really is a movie game, though. Hardly anyone who reviewed it even talked about the gameplay and the gameplay was horribly derivative. It's like they borrowed pieces of from Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and God Hand without any insight as to what made those games work so well.

The time devoted to cutscenes also works backwards from the what the medium is supposed to be: interactive.

Shilling my own channel, but w/e, it's better than transcribing what I've said here:

Based on my extremely limited knowledge of GoW, I’d assume that dialogue is supposed to mean “Are you sure that pussy faggot is the son of Kratos?”

Not to turn this into the Ghost of Tsushima defense force but it really is a great game and cinematic in a way that befits it's setting and themes. Playing a Samurai flick is sort of the whole point, and though it has a hefty amount of cinematics it isn't a movie game outside of them.

It has a very overused structure, basically ripped straight out of Far Cry and Assassin's Creed (the classic titles) and the combat is serviceable and fun if not super complex by any stretch.

It's the best of the Sony first party single player batch by far.

I'm talking about Ghost of Tsushima, not God of War.

GoWR suffers from constant didactic dialogue. Meaning every conversation is turned into characters essentially psychoanalyzing each other.

You can really feel the influence of people like Oprah Winfrey when every interaction is basically an exercise in Freudian moralizing. The elephant in the room is that Kratos is a homicidal maniac, regardless of the fact that he often took his frustrations out on people who had it coming. The Nu-GoW writers bend over backwards trying to apologize for Kratos past behavior in addition to trying to justify Freya's essentially castrating her son in order to "protect" him.

There's segments of the same TLUO style walking/talking dialogue dedicated to Freya psychoanalyzing herself in order to absolve herself of the fact that she is responsible for her son going insane. And Kratos is like, "Bruh, been there, done that. Feels, bruh."

Kratos also acts as judge, jury, and executioner in a world he barely knows regardless of the hypocrisy of a former mass murderer doing just that.

@PaladinBoo you probably have some better insight into this, but what I've come to discover is when a female writer needs needs to justify why a character is a maniac, she retreats into didactics. She preemptively tries to convince her readers or her audience that the weird proclivities the character has are normal, and you just need to accept it.

Ultimately it strikes me that these female writers feel guilty as fuck for some of the smut they produce and are desperate not only to find an excuse for it, but to bring everyone else on board.

And, like cockroaches to a flashlight, they scatter once exposed.

??? Nobody is buying a PS5 to play Ghost of Tsushima. Nobody talks about that game anymore. Might have made a good pack-in title for a PS4 bundle but not for PS5.
I was mainly referring to how a 2 year old game is somehow more popular than all the other shit they've shoveled out. So instead of giving a free upgrade when moving to PS5, they forced people to pay for the Director's Cut to get that graphical upgrade on the PS5, barely over a year after GoT originally released. Not saying that it worked as they stopped announcing sales records of the game 2 years after release in 2022. I honestly doubt it really moved any PS5s because the game already looked really good for a PS4 game, so I assume the only people that bought the Director's Cut were either Sony fanboys willing to pay full price to buy the same again for a graphics upgrade or people that joined the Playstation ecosystem with PS5 and weren't in it already with the PS4.

Again, not saying it worked. I'm just saying that Sony is notoriously retarded and will obsess over some retarded metric that a Nip salaryman managed to convince an even more retarded company executive over. This is the same company is actually planning to release a TLOU2 remaster on PS5.

It's wild that I'm at the crossroads where I honestly can't figure out what's worse: The cuck writers like Burch that emasculate all the male figures or the self-inserting fanboy writers like Danuser at Blizzard that force everyone to job to their self-insert and their waifu. It's like the horseshoe theory but for shitty writers from California.

Both Blizzard and Riot Games have pretty much accepted they're marketing their products to coomers. Overwatch in particular is full of coomer bait. League of Legends recently and unabashedly released a loli vampire girl. Every now and then, people pretend to be outraged about stuff like that, but it's not like this actually causes anyone to stand on principle and put down the games. Sex sells.

It was very interesting to see Blizzard go from "we have to remove all the female paintings from WoW and replace them with fruit bowls" to "here's Megan Fox to advertise Diablo 4".

I was talking about ghost of Tsushima, but as far as god of war goes I thought 2018 was ok. Like ghost of Tsushima it was just an ok game. Ragnarok though was absolute fucking dogshit, no surprise that Sweet Baby worked on it.
Ah, brain farted. Tsushima looked nice, but I still had Sekiro in my veins and it seemed like it would not really scratch that itch, it was also the time where even though the PS4 was getting it's last hurrah of Sony exclusives, I just wasn't caring anymore.

Sam Hyde recently brought something like that up in a recent stream. Something about how libtards like these will often virtue signal 24/7 and then you hear some story about how they got canned because they used a slur or they got handsy with another co-worker. There's never any consistency to it; it's all performative.

What's hilarious in retrospect is people like Chris Metzen, Michael Morhaime and other Blizzard founders had to write letters of apology for turning their company into a sex house. Like, that is now their legacy. On their way out, they basically tell the world how sorry they are for fostering a culture that hates women. Then, a year later, everyone basically memory-holes the whole Blizzard sex allegations and the company just starts distributing even more coomer bait.

It'll probably happen again in the future, once the folks at the top feel the need to play musical chairs with the leadership.

The console market is dying.

Games are doing better than ever.
Gaming is contracting, it's plain to see when you talk to the normies. They aren't putting the hours in like they used to.

The Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch would like a word with you. As advantageous as PC gaming can be, those two consoles still have that pick up and play mentality through backwards compatibility and a library of worthwhile titles. Well, at least until MS releases their discless Xbox Series X.
The XSX is a shit console, with no games, held back by the retarded idea of the XSS. It has sold worse than expected by a mile and that won't be fixed anytime soon because the gaming industry is bleeding money and MS can't/won't reduce the price. Even as they increase the price of GP.

The switch is selling well, without a doubt, but it isn't selling well as a console. If you look at the historic sales of handhelds like the Gameboy, DS and PSP, you'll see that they sold tens of million at a time when gaming wasn't as popular as it is now.
The switch is scratching the portable itch but as a home console, it could be selling Wii U numbers for all we know. That's not to take credit away from Nintendo, it's just that you can't say it is or isn't selling well as a home console.

The new dopamine hit for the normies is tiktok and soon, something will come along that allows people to tiktok together and that will be the final contraction that births a new direction for gaming industry.
