I'd say 2015. We got Batman Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, Just Cause 3, Fallout 4 (it was a pretty decent game even if it isn't amazing), Mario & Luigi Paper Jam, Yakuza 0, and so on

And the first Mario Party and Tony Hawk. 1999 might be my favorite year for games, come to think of it.

It was a bad year for games. It was the best year so far of the 2020s, but a bad year overall, and horrendous by 2000s standards.

2005 just swings by and says "Yeah we got GTA San Andreas, Psychonauts, Resident Evil 4, Killer7, no big deal, whatever". Meanwhile, 2022 stumbles out of the bathroom with his pants down, pukes all over the rug, blasts ass all up on my wall, and drops Elden Ring on his way out the door. 2023 got a D on his report card and technically passed, only thanks to Mario helping him. 5th and 6th gen were peak gaming specially if you were a psx owner and liked weeb games. Soyny is still riding on that goodwill even if there's nothing there to substantiate it. Personally i feel games have been shitty since the ps3 era, i wasn't into the shit colored art directions and japanese devs trying to copy western trends

The big difference is that Hogwarts Legacy, despite the woke crap in it, doesn't shit all over the original story or characters. It's a prequel set well before the Harry Potter books' characters were even born. Insoyniac Soyder-Man 2 on the other hand, directly shits all over Spider-Man in favor of girlbossing bitch MJ and niggerboy Miles Morales.

I'm not as familiar with Griffin; only started watching some of his videos lately. Seems to me he's hopping a bit on the same grifter bandwagon by objecting to woke shit in his games and other media. That seems to be making a bit of a comeback lately, especially with games like Soyderman 2 and Alan Woke 2 hammering their agendas to the point that it cannot be ignored any longer.

I want to see a lot of the "old guard" diminished because of this. Folks like Drinker, like Nerdrotic, like EFAP, like Critical, like Dunkey, have been constant fence-sitters when it comes to stuff like this and they essentially keep their fanbases in the dark or in denial that the entire video game industry is gone down the toilet. Gamers as a community have let this happen because social media influencers encourage copium inhalation and line their own pockets by keeping up the pretense that they're somehow fighting the man.

I want to see a #GamerGate 2.0.

I'm hoping GOTY 2023 gives everything to Soyderman and Alan Woke. That'll be a huge wakeup call to everyone in the industry.

We've already seen warning signs three years prior when TLoU 2 took home GOTY at the Game Awards. It goes to show you that all award shows are manipulative corporate bullshit

We also saw it last year when the entire awards show was essentially themed around God of War with how much they were shilling it, but they still had to give the Goty to Elden Ring. I'm still pissed that God of War somehow won best soundtrack over Xenoblade 3, the culmination of Yasunori Mitsuda's career since Chrono Trigger.
