Stellar Blade Developer Announces Publishing Deal With Sony Officially Making Shift Up PlayStation’s First Second Party Partner in Korea
>Buy exclusive rights to obscure random game in development hell from across the world
<Its somehow yet another "Cinematic" 3rd person action "RPG" movie game
9/10 scores are already being prepared as i am writing this. Or maybe 8/10 since the main protagonist does not look like a tranny yet.
The PS6 will have a library made up entirely of over 800 "different" 3rd person ARPGs, 200 of which are remasters.

Xbox is retarded in a million of its own ways, but at least they put out (or buy lol) some games that are not exactly the same as all the other stuff they already have to offer.

I've said it before, and it pisses people off, but whatever you played when you were like 12-16 is usually what you consider the best because of the emotional attachment.
Oh I definitely agree.

In recent years I've gone back and played tons of classic titles I loved from that era and older. Some held up, some didn't. In some I found things that had missed/didn't appreciate when I was younger. In others I definitely didn't feel the same as when I was young

On the other hand, I do occasionally find a game that makes me feel that same love again. Whether it be old or new

I think the double down is a very under-rated strategy for console makers and Sony picked a popular and well-loved genre. Much better than publishing, say, a single platformer and thinking that all platformer fans are going to have to buy your console now.

Wasn't The Amazing Lucas MAGA three, four years ago? Now he's okay with Miles Morales replacing Peter Parker as the main Spider-Man because of racism? I'm confused as all hell.
Griffin's reply is pretty good:
The Amazing Sony Fanboy didn't want Miles Morales to become the main Spider-Man. I don't know why he changed his mind. Maybe for the algorithm?

Those games are probably the only reason anyone is talking about Sony today. if Final Fantasy 7 had gone to the N64 instead of the Playstation as originally planned, Sony would never have become the gaming juggernauts they are.

Subsequently:

That's what happens when you rely on third parties to carry your console and don't have enough first party to make up for it when they screw the pooch. Nintendo never really hit this problem because they maintained a large, robust suite of good first party offerings. So even though the Wii was a shovelware machine, and the Wii U barely got any third party support at all, Nintendo's own first party support was able to carry them through the periods of third party bullshittery.
Even today, Legacy titles, even ones they don't make anymore, are PS/Sony's sticking point. GT is a a great example. I won't sperg out on that, but the movie should be evidence enough

More focus is put into the visual and "legacy" aspect of everything they make, as opposed to the gameplay side. It's odd to me that "xbox lost the console war" when Xbox is the objectively better GAMING system between its titles , its backwards compatibility and its support for games that aren't JRPGs and 2D shit.

When you're that age everything has a certain signficance to it.

But even aside from that some of the disagreement probably comes from genre interest. PS3/360 was the era of the first person shooter, or the dudebro shooter depending on how you look at it. If that's what you're into the PS2 isn't going to look interesting. Conversely, if you're more into JRPGs or Japanese games in general it's going to be hard to argue in favor of PS3/360.

It was a great era for 3PS though, where massive GTA clones and stealth shooters roamed the land as cheap movie tie-ins soared overhead.

The amazing WOOcuss is a fake person who has no real position. His position floats to anything he thinks will get him clicks or views. His "arguments" if you can call them that are lifted directly from twitter posts. He's currently a Sony Pony but in a year or so he'll be an Xbot talking about the snowballed momentum of Microsoft and them being the only company able to survive financially in the new era of gaming.

For me the PS3 was kind of the golden era. It came out right when I was around that age where games aren't just retard fun anymore and you actually begin to try to understand what you're playing, and so many titles on there stick with me to this day.

Motorstorm and Motorstorm PR, Burnout Paradise, FUEL, Mercenaries 2, BFBC/BFBC2/BF3, Just Cause 2, GT5, GTAIV, Saints Row 2, etc etc there's so many titles on there that just forever stick with me.

Not to say the ps2 isn't legendary. Just as many titles there that I still love to this day (almost done with TXR3 again) but the PS3 was really an era for me
I get it, I was pretty hyped for that era in general initially too, but I'm way more into Jap games and in retrospect I really think with that generation they largely stumbled. I'm sure people who prefer western games like what you listed were well satisfied.

That's true, and is why I focused more on handhelds ever since. That's where the kinds of games I liked were in greater quantity & quality.

While the PS1, Dreamcast, etc. were the first eras for FPS, the PS2, PS3, OG Xbox and 360 consoles were the golden age of dudebro FPS games due to the likes of Halo, CoD, Battlefield, etc. being sold like absolute hotcakes. Even kart racing games were more successful than the likes of JRPGs

Only difference is, since the devs are Korean, the main female character is allowed to look actually attractive:

I look forward to the wokies coping and seething when she is inevitably recieved better than MJ/Aloy/Ellie/Abby.

They wanted to go live-action because, and I'm assuming here so I could be wrong here, they want to be more "dark and gritty" and be "all serious" or some stupid shit. I mean look what they did with Legend of Chun-Li, the Assassin's Creed movie, Tomb Raider 2018, RE: Welcome to Racoon City, etc. They failed horribly to capture what made these respective game franchises worked.
Welcome captured the essence of the PS1 games dialogue and scares in a bottle and brought 90s charm to It all. You're right about everything else though.

I actually enjoyed the first Resident Evil film. It was pretty shit but I enjoyed that schlock as an early 2000s "turn your brain off and enjoy the stupid shit" type of movie. Kind of like those Underworld films.
This man understands
Why the hell is this the recent cover art trend?

IT DOESN’T LOOK GOOD! STOP DOING IT! I blame tlou “remake” for starting this trend.
I like it.

Hello I'm Jack Perkins. goodnight

( Yeah the PlayStation portal looks like ass)

When was the last time that Sony showed the game?
You know that they will force them to change the model, just like Amazon did with the MMOs that they publish in the west.

A little over a year ago. I doubt that they'll change the model, since it looks like a considerable amount of work has been done on the game already, and changing the models on both Eve and Lily would set development back significantly. But of course, this IS modern Sony; I wouldn't put it past them. Especially since they're publishing now.

The most lazy, cost effective way to ruin it would be to declare them transgender in a character bio or something.

Sony, I'm available to hire for your DEI department.

Yeah if that was more than a year ago then yes, Sony has probably made a few requests. I'm saying this because Blue Protocol, a MMO that has been out for quite some time but not in the West because Amazon bought the publishing rights and they have been hard at work changing the female characters and removing classes for "current year western sensibilities".

I've personally never been much for JRPGs, most of my Japanese game enjoyment came from racing games like GT, TXR and Choro Q. That said unlike many of their fans I didn't let them influence me into becoming a "OMG THING BUT JAPAN" type fag

All of those titles are dead now besides GT, which may as well be dead.

That would be like SquareEnix telling PlatinumGames to cover up 2B's design for Nier: Automata. The main character's striking design has become one of its biggest selling points. I don't think even Sony are that stupid, nor do I think the developers would get in bed with Sony if they asked them to make drastic changes.
