Fuck soyny.. seriously just fuck them! They can't kill themselves fast enough.

What is the endgame or benefit to any of this other than the ability to ban steam users from their games easier? Giving up sales just because they don't have PSN? What is even the point?

I think, just exactly what other posters have already said, that Sony will just restrict those games that are multiplayer only to countries where you can create a PSN account.

The only reason when companies stop insisting is when either there is a change in leadership or the money ran out.

They are far too arrogant to usually stop on their own.
