PlayStation will be holding concerts of their various IP soundtracks:

Abbyzilla look like she's only there to take up the space where Concord would have been, had Concord not shit the bed as hard as it did.

Also, where is Spider-Man and Gran Turismo? Given how hard they push the Spider-Man games, and Gran Turismo stans love to suck on the game's music, those being missing are huge missed opportunities.
I can't even remember the last Sony game that actually had a memorable soundtrack... *sigh*
>Playstation concert
>No Gravity Rush, Team Ico, or Sly Cooper

You had one fucking job. That's like holding a John WIlliams concert and only focusing on Star Wars.
It's gonna be a bunch of movie game music that's serviceable in the shitty games they make, but nothing good enough to warrant listening to on its own, unlike the classics.
Playstation talks about celebrating their history and superficially acknowledges it, toys with backwards compatibility a little, but it seems like anything that isn't brand new is a huge taboo. Feels like they're desperate to push the newest games.
They want to show off their "artistic" games (read pretentious). There is no room for beloved "kid" games.

At the cost of several first party titles being sunsetted, poor online infrastructure to the point of being compromised and name changes potentially blocking access to certain titles. Even with PS+ Plus, they're JUST on par with Xbox Live now.
I think it's a mistake to assume Sony's service quality problem, was rooted in a lack of revenue. Steam is a service that is higher quality than even Sony today, and it doesn't cost a penny.

I think Sony charges for online play, not because they need to but because they can, just look to games like Helldivers on PC, where online play is free.

I don't think they needed to charge money to improve the service, I think they needed to improve the service to charge money for it.

We're starting to get some of the first reviews of PS5 Pro performance from Digital Foundry, and it's not looking good.

This reply really sums it up:

It looks like that other than PSSR, the early speculation was correct that PS5 Pro is close to a downclocked 7800XT, maybe even a 7700XT. For anyone keeping score at home, those are GPUs that AMD is going to be fireselling this Christmas which means we might unironically get PS5 Pro killer builds the same month the console comes out.

So that sounds like that the unpolished and buggy Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will not likely be able to run at steady 60 FPS on PS5 Pro either.

Sony Loses Legal Battle To Prevent Third-Party Add-Ons Being Sold For PlayStation Titles

The court issued the following statement on the matter:

The Directive on the legal protection of computer programs does not allow the holder of that protection to prohibit the marketing by a third party of software which merely changes variables transferred temporarily to working memory. The directive protects only the intellectual creation as it is reflected in the text of the computer program’s source code and object code.

Looks like Action Replay cheats is back in action :story:

It seems like all forms of media production from games to movies to TV are plagued with the idea that blindly throwing money at projects is not only harmless but actively the best way to operate.

It really gives me the impression companies think they have infinite money and infinite credibility with their customers.

Sony seems to be the champion of this mentality, after spending $400 million on Concord and then half ass-ing the release, more intent to say "fuck the fans" than actually try to court them.

With this being the ruling, does it implicitly mean that the subhuman filth that sell mod access on sites like Patreon could still get what they deserve, since their stuff isn't just temp injected into RAM?
Sadly yes but thats been the case for years now. See: that GTA trainer case.

Edit: Thats also an EU case, bleh.

Predictable. I mentioned it before, but Sony's own requirements cause those issues, specifically this one: It cannot run worse than the base PS5 version, either in resolution or framerate.

Insomniac aren't taking a risk, and just went for the quick and dirty patch with no real bells and whistles.

While we have no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re delighted to bring all of our previously released post-launch content to the PC version, including New Game+, new suits and color variants, Photo Mode features, and more.
Spider-Man 2's story DLCs are cancelled. From the leaks as well as that debug build they accidentally put out, we knew they were working on some. Guess they aren't anymore.
Between this and the PC port coming out sooner than expected, they must be losing money on it, to this day.

Probably merged into Venom as a Miles-like standalone.

Sony ponies must be desperate if they classify games like Spider Slop2 as a killer apps... And who would possibly want DLC for that shit title? What would the DLC possibly entail? I am fairly certain Insomniac made Spiderman 2 to transition to Niggerman 3.
