The funny thing is that despite their general incompetence Microsoft actually launched a ton of successful GaaS. I'm not even talking about stuff they brought. SoT, Grounded, MCC, Forza. And then add in Minecraft, ESO and F76 from Bethesda, all of the Activision and Blizzard stuff. They have 10+ of these things running at once.

RDR2 has sold like 60 million copies. When was the last time you heard anyone talk about that game? 1 week after launch?

Well if we take inventory of Nintendo's catalog based on prior release dates and estimated dev time:
Launch: Mario Kart
Likely Launch Year: 3D Platformer Mario
Year 2 or 3: Pokemon game after ZA, Fire Emblem, Mario Maker, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing
Year 3 or 4: 3D Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles, Splatoon
Year 4 or 5: 2D Zelda, 2D Mario, Mario Party, Bayonetta, Pikmin

Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon ZA are Switch 1 games, so they're likely just making only 2 games that are exclusive to the Switch 2 to ease people into it while next year is when they hit the gas. They could stagger their exclusives to 3-4 games per year and they'd be clowning on Sony.

The rumours were that GTA 6 was going to launch at the end of last gen, with a PS5/Series version dropping at the start of this gen. Microsoft/Sony revealed the specs of their machines, which had the power to build a yuge GTA6, so R* set at it. MS/Sony assured R* that by year 4/5 of the gen, there would be 100+ million consoles sold between both parties.

It's year 5 and we've just tipped into the 85~ million mark. If I was a betting man, R*s 'leaked' trailer was a PS4 build to see if they could still get away with launching GTA6 on previous gen. The backlash was loud and clear, so they've set about launching it on this gen only.

I would love to be a fly on the wall during the recent R* and Sony meetings.

I remember vividly the first time I tried WiiU on a demo kiosk, it was set up in front of a nice flat screen TV and then the game asked me to do some contrived touchscreen action on the tablet. My first thought was: "Why the Hell is this thing asking me to look down at this dog water tablet screen when I have a big, HDTV right in front of me?" I walked away without even finishing the demo.

That's not happening. They just released the Pro on the tail end of last year and as someone else mentioned in the thread, half of PSN users are still on PS4. Releasing a console this soon based on new RDNA4 would make it prohibitively expensive.
