Yeah it's called a Nintendo Switch. That's what the normies are buying and playing games on.
Not my personal experience, it's mostly people owning PS4s and PS5s, but it seems this varies a lot from country to country.
For example in certain countries soccer is important, and Fifa has always been biggest on the Playstation, the console has dominated the European continent at least since the PS2

Non-smelly fighting games are capped to that, yes.
Smash hasn't garnered that reputation yet!

The multitap was mentioned on the back of the case if the game supported it. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the multitap allows you to connect more controllers based on context clues.
I guess but the library isn't great so you still might not ever know. Klonoa Volleyball, Crash Bash/Racing, and Bomberman seem like the only notable ones. Technically there's a LOT but the page is like 70% sports and 25% random junk I never heard of.

From what I remember pretty well everyone was aware of it by the time I got one in 2001.

You would just see them in store for sale when browsing and when playing a game it would say if it supported 4 player in the VS mode.

I bought one for CTR but Twisted Metal was a very popular series, also the wrestling games were staples around that time even if I don't care for them now.

Twisted Metal supported it? That's not too shabby. Not a game for me but it was very popular. I don't know though, I never saw one until well after it ended production, and probably only online, I don't remember seeing one in person. Certainly nobody I knew had one.

Least surprising thing ever really. Anybody looking forward to Wolverine is retarded enough to still buy it.
