I was asking from the perspective of a shareholder but I agree. The PS6 is fucked. Last gen graphics are seen as good enough and the price of both games and consoles has gone way up. Building a PC or buying a Nintendo console (which can run nearly any game with enough optimisation) is going to be the way forward.
Sony did a lot in the PS3 era to hold on to 3rd parties, creating their own free engine, PhyreEngine for developers and funding things like the localization of Yakuza 5
that’s another issue, this pivot has led to Sony being completely reliant on companies like Activision,EA, and Take-Two to release their yearly slop GaaS games in order for Sony to sustain itself on digital store cuts, because you have a bunch of developers refusing to work on any first-party content unless it conforms to that particular studios vision it leads to 2+ years in between major Sony releases with the in between time being completely reliant on Aforementioned GaaS slop to entertain people on a PS5, in which it really doesn’t because even all but the normies of normalfags are tired of GaaS in 15 years time the console industry will be Microsoft, Nintendo and possibly Valve, I just don’t see Sony execs pulling their heads out of their ass and realizing they are the fucking problem

Nobody fucking liked Killzone, they all had soft sales, especially the last one. And the PS3 existed in an era where you could course correct over three or so years, Hulst really was stuck with Ryan's trash. If anything, you could argue that him and the other guy did a pretty good job buying temp exclusivity to cover up the live service fuckups. FF 16, FF7R2, RotR, Stellar Blade, lol Forspoken (likely sold better than Killzone 4), enough to win again Xbox's wall of nothing.
