you have to remember consolefags literally don't have many options. either keep the old system around (if it still works and your gamepad isn't completely worn-out), beg for a raped remake or emulate on PC, and with the last option there's not much reason to play on console anymore.Retards who keep asking for Sony to dig up more dead IPs and violate their corpses only have themselves to blame. You want a newer, shittier and niggerfied regurgitation of what you played 10 years ago, pay $80 for it, and you don't even have ownership of it? Don't complain when it turns out that way.
they made kratos a faggot? lmao
Of course they missed them. Half their users are preferring the PS4 and a few prefer the the PS3 and others just stick to PC as it has nearly everything they want, given time.Rumours are knocking about that the PS5 missed targets by a wide margin. Rumours like this are always circulating but we're coming up to Sony's quarterly call with official numbers.
Strong seasonal sales are the norm. Doing better at Christmas is nothing new. The shareholders need to ask better questions. Meanwhile, Nintendo is finishing the Switch with Metroid Prime and Pokemon Legends. If they think that their overshadowed console is going to show off in THIS year, they are too out of touch. In an exchange with ( believe) shareholders, asking questions to the Sony execs, Sony are seemingly (my read on it) coping about strong seasonal sales and a massive fall-off in January, but they reassure the shareholders that 2025 will bring a strong first party line up (Which games they mean I have no idea) and their sales will be bolstered by strong 3rd party support (I assume they mean GTA6).
Gaslighting. This is dire. They are grasping at straws and trying to distract the shareholders. This is a ticking time bomb.Sony also state that their new target is MAU's (which has barely changed in ten years and is floating on 50% of the users playing a PS4) and not console sales.
It will be a slaughter, not a fight. Ok, ok, I say that but chances are that they will start slow with the Switch 2. The Switch had to make up for the Wii U. This is not the case now. With Switch 2 releasing this year and a full announcement only 6 weeks away, things could get interesting.
I agree with all of your post, I just wanted to highlight this part. You're right, doing better at Christmas is nothing new, but I think sales were dire over Christmas.Strong seasonal sales are the norm. Doing better at Christmas is nothing new.
if the next Xbox has a windows mode I could see things improving drastically as far as library goes, Xbox is not ideal but Game Pass and the Xbox store still have all your major titles, adding being able to access stuff on Steam for example would be a good option for those who need hardware but dont wanna fuck with the maintenance of a Gaming PC, a lot of casuals fucking hate PC Gaming but it would make shit less complicated if they could get Windows in an Xbox form factoryou have to remember consolefags literally don't have many options. either keep the old system around (if it still works and your gamepad isn't completely worn-out), beg for a raped remake or emulate on PC, and with the last option there's not much reason to play on console anymore.
Steambox is coming. The PlayStation 6 in all likelihood is going to suck, theres several years in between first party releases, the only two I can think off of the top of my head are Spider-Man 2 and God of War Ragnarok, this shit is gonna continue, it honestly wouldnt surprise me if the PS6's launch line-up was entirely third-party

This is an enormous cope by them and is done purely to make their numbers look better by showing "look, the number went up!" when they release Stellar Blade on PC. They will claim that player count as an increase of MAU, not explaining to shareholders that its an indictment against their dogshit console as people are willing to skip over a good game (which they didn't even make) so they don't have to buy the dogshit console.Sony also state that their new target is MAU's (which has barely changed in ten years and is floating on 50% of the users playing a PS4) and not console sales.
yeah its extremely likely imo, I don't think MS just gets a monopoly in that, and I also don't see the Switch 2 matching the PS5 in a way most third-party developers will find acceptable to consistently develop for, there will always be a need for under $1000 gaming boxes that just werk, A lot of the PCMR redditor Crowd don't understand thatSteambox is coming.

If there's a Sony account requirement for Stellar Blade, I'm not buying it.This is an enormous cope by them and is done purely to make their numbers look better by showing "look, the number went up!" when they release Stellar Blade on PC. Wow, that is a very telling graph. They see an uptick with people buying the console or a new game for their kids during the Christmas time and that's about it. Their one successful upgrade for a year, 2024, is because of FF Rebirth, Elden Ring DLC, Astro Bot, Tekken 8, CoD, Dragon Ball fighting game, Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade, and Metaphor all dropping in one singular year but they are still struggling to see a 10 million jump for those 2024 quarters. As for that December 2024 leap, how much you want to bet these retards are purposely double counting people that played on PS5 and then bought a PS5 Pro in the same month despite them knowing its the same person through their PSN account?View attachment 7021004
MAU combined. That's across 3 platforms; PS4, PS5 and PC.
From June 2020, Pre-PS5, to June 2025, they added 2 million more MAU's, despite having two extra platforms and only Switch as competition. For a platform that's meant to be the defacto niggercattle machine, those are bad, bad numbers.
Seeing as how they dropped that requirement for their new exclusives like Spider-Man 2, I'm guessing they realized it will cripple their PC sales after Ghost of Tsushima (one of their lifebuoys) topped out at 77k peak players at Day 4 and then went into a straight decline. The PC release of Stellar Blade is one of their few lifebuoys they have left and they really don't want to cripple that too.If there's a Sony account requirement for Stellar Blade, I'm not buying it.
Hole up. Did these freakshows turn my boy Kratos into a faggot?
It could be, but I think it's worse, in that it could be grandma and auntie buying little johnny shark cards, astrobot or PSN credit. Most people will log on to their consoles to play over xmas, especially if they have a gift to redeem. As for that December 2024 leap, how much you want to bet these retards are purposely double counting people that played on PS5 and then bought a PS5 Pro in the same month despite them knowing its the same person through their PSN account?
Helldivers 2 would be dead if not for Steam, where that platform contributes 60% of the MAU's and active players. Probably more now. They will count Steam players as MAU's, even without the PSN requirement. The PC release of Stellar Blade is one of their few lifebuoys they have left and they really don't want to cripple that too.
How Does Sony Calculate Monthly Active Users?
To understand how Sony calculates Monthly Active Users (MAU), it is essential to first recognize that MAU is a metric used to gauge user engagement with their products and services over a specific period, typically one month. While the exact methodology may vary slightly depending on the specific service or platform (such as PlayStation Network, Sony Music, or other digital services), the general principles remain consistent.
1. Definition of Active Users: Sony defines an “active user” based on unique identifiers associated with their accounts. This could include PlayStation Network IDs for gaming services or user accounts for streaming platforms like Sony Music. An active user is typically defined as someone who has logged into their account and engaged with the service in some meaningful way during the month.
Streaming Services on PS5
When you use your PS5 to access streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon Prime Video, you are engaging with those platforms through the console’s interface. The PS5 acts as a medium for accessing these services, and your activity is tracked by the respective streaming service providers.
Counting Users on Streaming Platforms
Most streaming services track user engagement through their applications. When you log into any streaming service on your PS5 and watch content, that action is recorded. If you do this at least once within a month, you would be considered an active user for that month.
Yep, they're cooking the books. Switch has twice the sales and 100 million MAU. Sony has half the sales and more MAUs?In summary, the current estimate for the number of monthly active users on the Nintendo Switch stands at approximately 100 million MAUs, reflecting its status as a leading gaming platform.
Sucked off graphics, put down JRPGs, accepted bribes for reviews, tried to destroy gamers etc etc.How about we just blame the retard Game Journalists that sucked off Graphics for my entire childhood?
But is it anygood and can I emulate it with a decent framerate on my Steamdeck?
