I must say it’s really cucked on Sony’s end that two franchises that have always been known as PlayStation exclusives got their new releases announced at a Nintendo Direct. I know that these games would be on other platforms anyway and they’re being published by Bandai Namco but you’d think that they’d show up at a State of Play first. Truly pathetic stuff.

They run on switch, yet they're announced for PS4. Really makes you thunk

Sony executives must be overjoyed that Nintendo managed to fuck up so hard that everyone temporarily forgot the PS5 has no gaems.

I remember there was a native port of Jak and Daxter a few years ago, not sure if it is related at all but considering how this might be an all encompassing tool that is game agnostic it ensures total future preservation of these titles as long as X86 PC compatibility exist.

I hope this recompilation trend keeps growing and happens for all past consoles. Unleashed Recompiled was a eye opener for a lot of people,

Sony: We are going to increase the price of the PS5.
Fans: Because of the tariffs?
Sony: Tariffs?
Never let a crisis (especially a State-enabled one) go to waste. Nintendo was one thing, but the ""tariffs"" are being used as an excuse by some to jack up prices. And Nintendo's bullshit essentially confirms the new cancerous standard that most will move to in terms of game prices.

If they keep pricing out normies though, I think the big three are in for a rude awakening.

True but God knows what Sony are smoking to assume they have enough goodwill to pull such a stunt. Nintendo inflated its ego with the Switch. The PS5 does not have those credentials.

I said it before: the only console makers that matter are Nintendo and Valve with the Steam Decks. Nintendo decided to release a console that has a bigger price for both itself and its games. Not very competitive if you ask me. Valve might reign supreme if Nintendo does not get its act together. As for Sony and MS, they might as well as throw in the towel.

I just want to see Nintendo really get their comeuppance this time around, and I personally think they will to some extent. Most normies, especially the parents, will not find this shit tier pricing appealing.

I mean there were times where Xbox went literal years without a notable (good) release. And I think Wii U had month-long droughts of any new releases period, forget about quality or exclusiveness.
This is phrased as if Xbox has had a notable good release at some point after the 360 era, if so I would genuinely like to know what would qualify, lol (the only thing that comes to mind for me is ori which is like a decade old, or something that just passes the "serviceable" threshold like the newest forza title).

While it's possible that parents see "Switch 2" and, like the WiiU, say "why not just get/stay with the OG switch", but I wouldn't bet on it.

Twisted Metal sold good on PS1 but no title broke 2 million and its all been downhill from there with both Black and 2012 failing to break 1 million. Fan fav my ass.
To me "Fan fave" doesn't necessarily mean commercially succesful, a "fan fave" could be a cult classic. Nonetheless, I agree that it was a good idea, economically, for sony to can Twisted Metal and TLoU factions after the concord disaster.
