While true, SNOY's movie games are called such because their makers are, generally, wannabe filmmakers who feel insecure about being tasked to make a videogame instead (see Druckmann practically begging for legacy media approval by going to the Golden Globes and justly being ignored). In turn, they focus their efforts on all the non-video gamey stuff, making gameplay an afterthought with difficulty limited to tasks befitting the lowest common denominator so that a "player" can get to the stuff that the maker is actually proud of. The irony being that, as insipid as their gameplay is, the "movie" aspects are often just as bad (even putting the "woke" aspects aside, they're just schlocky garbage that would get laughed out of the room if they were actual movies). This has rightly garnered a stigma of the desire for "cinematic" experiences which is a shame because I think being "cinematic" can be a good thing; Especially so if the game's authors approach this with some respect for vidja as a medium and humility with regard to the subject matter their team can actually handle. Generally, larger studios cannot handle anything with even a modicum of seriousness (too many chefs in the kitchen perhaps?) but can do cheesy action movie (e.g., COD, Ace Combat, etc.) or cheesy spy thriller (e.g., Metal Gear) just fine. Smaller studios likeYou can make both a game with good cutscenes and good/fun gameplay
's team silent can pull off other genres (that early era of survival horror was particular cinematic, in a good way, thanks to excellent use of fixed camera angles and pre-rendered backgrounds. Shame that tank controls filter the mass market.)Silent Hill
Where are they they seemed scrubbed off the internet was it that bad? I see it was supposed to be open world XD
Now this, is the actual critique. And I myself, in my first comment in this thread, wrote that Sony uses the approach where they put in the most bland gameplay (like TLoU), without any major effort or thought put into it(walk, solve puzzle, maybe, fight some idiots, cutscene, rinse and repeat) - most people just scrolled to the end and focused on "people who criticise cutscenes are retarded", without reading the "it's not cutscenes that ruin gameplay" part. What you described is, though.(shortened so that people could reply)
Red Dead 2 was notorious for over done animations that got in the way of gameplay. You can make both a game with good cutscenes and good/fun gameplay (Red Dead, Cyberpunk, GTA, Claire Obscur, Silent Hill, if atmosphere of dread and fear counts as gameplay in horror). They're not two polar opposite things that you can't have together :// The world isn't made of black and white, and likewise the gaming too.
Let me save you some trouble since I've also seen these leaks: Wolverine is just going to be another soyderman, just without the webslinging. Models are ugly, gameplay is as generic as always, writing is awful, and we're dealing with nu-Insomniac here. I would not be surprised if they fuck up Logan and other characters out of spite like they did with Parker/MJ.Where are they they seemed scrubbed off the internet was it that bad? Jeez all thats missing is a forced switch segment with a female.... shit with mj made me hate Spiderman games thst arent on the ps1 and ps2. Not to mention how they're "two spidermen" when it's called Spiderman ffs.Let me save you some trouble since I've also seen these leaks: Wolverine is just going to be another soyderman, just without the webslinging. If you want to play a proper Wolverine experience, go find Wolverine: Origins, Marvel Ultimate Alliance or X-Men Legends games or one of the many Marvel fighters like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. This is going to be another interactive soyny movie that barely resembles the source material.
I’m going to laugh my head off if Wolverine requires health packs to heal and Jean Grey can just regenerate health.Let me save you some trouble since I've also seen these leaks: Wolverine is just going to be another soyderman, just without the webslinging. I also kinda never dived into Metal Gear series, having only completing MGR because of those stupid memes(shortened again because of my own yapping)
BG3 is not MMO-style.Baldur's Gate 3, which from what I have heard, approaches questlines completely differently, but I just hate it's core MMO-RPG type of gameplay,
BG3 is too complicated for soyny nigger cattle, they are confused and angered by all the gameplay and choices the game asks of them when all they want to do is watch cutscenes. Sorry buddy, you will have to WORK for that gay bear sex!BG3 is not MMO-style.
Yeah, me, someone who gets to play Europa Universalis 4, a game that is infinitely more complex and hard than BG will ever hope to be(you will get spitroasted even on easy if you play like a retard), definitely struggles with BG. Not because I loathe it's Aion-ass MMO gameplay, that should've been long since be a bygone.BG3 is too complicated for soyny nigger cattle, they are confused and angered by all the gameplay and choices the game asks of them when all they want to do is watch cutscenes. Bringing up the first game that comes up when you google "big brained games for a smart guy like me" isn't going to fool anyone.Yeah, me, someone who gets to play Europa Universalis 4, a game that is infinitely more complex and hard than BG will ever hope to be(you will get spitroasted even on easy if you play like a retard), definitely struggles with BG. Contact a closest hospital, so that they'd cut out a rib or two for dream of sucking your own cock to become reality, lmao. Getting hard over video game preference - get a life, lil bro
HOI 4 doesn't take skill. You just spam military factories, troops, upgrade troops, and maybe occasionally aviation(naval is niche at best, garbage at most realistic). It doesn't have trade system(that actually isn't garbage and matters), modifiers on economy, oh, and economy as well, to name a few. On top of that, you will get ass fucked in EU4 for trying HoI4 type "capture all of the country in one war" by rebels, loose all manpower and go in debt, then eat shit and die before NATO equivalent coalition, formed specifically against you, for being greedy cunt, even had a chance to capture you. It's literally a game a 15 year old brain can play, why do you think so many mentally stunted individuals love this game? Lul.Bringing up the first game that comes up when you google "big brained games for a smart guy like me" isn't going to fool anyone.
Also, map painters don't take skills or any sort of intelligence to master, just time and autism. HOI4 is a perfect example of this.
BG3 is not a "MMO-style" game. Since you're not arguing in good faith you can be ignored and your opinion discarded.BG. Not because I loathe it's Aion-ass MMO gameplay
I won't argue in good faith against those who do the same for me, lmao. Expect politeness to that other bouncing off the wall retard, trying to be smart? Well, expect all you want, lolBG3 is not a "MMO-style" game. Since you're not arguing in good faith you can be ignored and your opinion discarded.
I have yet to see a single DSP detractor that didn't have awful taste in video games. Figures they congregate around one individual who might be even worse gamer than them, well for the most part, at lease even he knows KCD2 is a piece of shit which does elude quite a few of them.BG3 is not a "MMO-style" game. "I would rather play my autistic map painting video games than actually learn how to get good in an actual decent video game because I have no skills"What does takes time and autism is relying on motor memory in "le difficult games", and googling meta guides.
Grind away a Dark Souls game isn't difficult, lmao. Playing instruments, like a guitar especially, is far more complex muscle memory exercise than any Souls like game will ever be. Even playing fighting games competitively, or any online game, for that matter, is actually tough. But sure, keep deluding yourself that playing offline videogame is "lE tOuGh", and don't forget to circle jerk with that other guy, Mexican refugee's and pedophile's little bottom bitch xDI have yet to see a single DSP detractor that didn't have awful taste in video games. Yes, I thought that was already established. That's why you soyny drones like it when there is as little gameplay as possible, you can skip to the good part and just watch the cutscenes.
Okay, I am a big gaming enthusiast, and have both games I disliked(Days Gone, gameplay part of Last Of Us), and low key loved by Sony (Ghost of Tsushima, kinda Spider Man Remastered after first act, won't count Death Stranding because its mostly Kojima vision), and personally, my biggest problem with Sony games is how uninspired the gameplay is sometimes. It feels very bland, generic and "on the rails" to me, where even something that I thought I'd love (like GoW, with Kratos letting of his desire for vengeance and trying to become a good father) I just skipped altogether because of how lame and uninspiring the gameplay part is.
I won't say that Sony haven't released anything good though - I liked 2/3 of Spider Man Remastered (first act was absolute ass, but rest of the game was fun, voice acting surprised me with how unironically great Peter is), and Ghost of Tsushima for it's amazing art style and world (even if by the end some of it's issues began annoy me).
Some people say "HURR SONY MAKES GAME MOVIES", but people who criticise cut scenes, are, imo, retarded - it's mediocre gameplay that drags it down a lot of times(like it did with TLoU for me)
