Even though sometimes i wish we coyld get the sequel of Sly cooper that we are owned and it would be cool to play it. Im glad Sly Cooper as a franchise is dead/locked up because you just know they are gonna fuck it up by making Carmelita the main character of the game and be better than Sly and all that jazz.
I'd love a new sly cooper too but sucker punch would fuck it completely. I mean Sly 4 was already complete and utter dogshit, Sly's over and done with, unfortunately for the best.

I think the same about the Sly Cooper movie that was in production and was cancelled after the box office failure of the Ratchet and Clank one. I was interested at first and was disappointed about the cancellation but on second thought it was scheduled to come out in 2016, that year is when the whole woke agenda got a firm foothold on Western entertainment. In retrospect it is better that it never came out.
If only Sony would give the same amount of mercy to Gravity Rush and pull the plug on that movie:

Was it really? Looks fine to me, frame rate issues and shitty DLC bait ending aside. People need to stop wishing for modern day sequels, Sly 4 might not be the worst one out there but I guarantee you that Sucker Punch would make something worse. Sometimes, dead is better.

I really didn't need to see that.

I said as much in my original post? It's good that Sly is dead, so Sucker Punch can't make Carmelita a dyke or something and ruin It's legacy more than 4 already has.

Are you talking about 4? i don't remember it having any frame rate issues, i don't remember the ending all too much either, Sly 4 is simultaneously shit, and horribly forgettable. I only played 4 once when it came out and never touched it again. I fucking DESPISED that game, whereas i played the original trilogy religiously, especially 2.

Yeah, those are the worst issues the game has. Sly 4 could have been better, but it is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Definitely worse sequels out there.

You're forgetting how they also butchered Penelope's character for no good reason. The heist plans also sucked. And while the game isn't buggy and broken or anything, the controls and physics feel weirdly worse to play than the PS2 games. It may not be the most infuriatingly bad or slopped together sequel out there, but it really didn't do anything good enough to deserve any credit or leniency.

butchered Penelope's character for no good reason
And Sly, And Murray, And Carmelita. It butchered every single goddamn character so we could have
Penelope getting lobotomized and all of a sudden betraying Bentley for MONEY, when Sly left them MILLIONS of dollars, and being the twist villain once again.

Sly ruining the life with Carmelita he's spent three goddamn games trying to get, the woman he loved so much he faked having amnesia, stopped talking to his lifelong friends, and gave up his family's vault, with all their history, and uncountable amounts money and gems for. To do "one more heist." when every time Sly's stolen it's been to further goals. To fight the Fiendish Five, to get back pages of the Thievius Racconus, to stop Clockwerk, finding his families vault. Sly wouldn't give his life away with Carmelita just because he wants to do another goddamn heist, fuck off.

Carmelita genuinely got shit done. She was no nonsense, fiery, confident and held her own. Funny how she's actually a well written character, one that all the shit modern writers try to make now and fail at. Sly 4 then takes her, somehow makes her look like anything but a fox and instead has her look and act like a whore. She thirsts after Sly's ancestors and they make her a goddamn belly dancer, outfit and all. Why, because she's hot? Go fuck yourself.

Murray, my favorite character by a mile who is no longer THE Murray and instead goes right back to who he was in Sly 1 being the dumb, fat, comedic relief getaway driver. Giving up ALL of his wonderful character development in 2 and 3, that made him more than just a "fat pathetic weakling." He was a fear stricken and controlled dumb getaway driver in the first game. By the end of the series he's a protective, confident and loyal friend who finds his resolve in his strength. all of that is thrown away, to get him scarfing down cheeseburgers and humiliating himself in a geisha outfit, like Carmelita humiliated herself by being a belly dancer, cause why the fuck not. Fan-fucking-tastic.
Fuck Sly 4. I hated that game when i was growing up, the month's spent in suspense and hype, all for it to shit down my throat. And now that I've had time to fester, I hate it even more.

Sly 4 also turned Sly's ancestors into a bunch of bumbling clowns, which annoyed me.

I didn't hate the game at the time but looking back on it, it definitely felt like a precursor to the Force Awakens type shit we get these days. And then you have the cliffhanger which will (probably) never be resolved. So may as well just ignore it and only consider the trilogy canon, since it wraps things up pretty definitively anyway.

Is being seen as the "default" console + sports games doing the heavy lifting?
Yeah. MS is actively trying to shove Xbox into the grave and Switch is seen as the "side" console. What'll be interesting is if the rumored new Steam console happens.
Sucker Punch came out while promoting Ghost of Yotei and explicitly said not a single person at the studio has the desire to make a Sly Cooper game.
Good. Don't want Sly getting pozzed and subverted. Same with ND and Jak.

nothing? it's going to be a deck situation all over again in which the regional limited availability of it is what "sort of" killed it and it's something that "it's there", same as valve index if you look back.
every time valve goes for hardware stuff people sort of shrug, it's good, functional stuff but it's kind of "there" and doesn't gain much traction or is talked about much outside the honeymoon period, it's not like when switch 2 does retarded shit to fuck up the SD card slot but then again valve is a consumer focused company so all the shit they do is good, hard to make fun of.

No surprise there. Making a whimsical, charismatic colorful and FUN mascot platformer would be "beneath them" Bunch of pretentious, fart huffing dipshits. Instead here is a bull dyke samurai stronk-female-I-need-no-man in the middle of feudal Japan simulator.

I'm glad they are leaving Sly alone. The original trilogy is perfect for what it is.

And there is still Lesbianniggress From Outer Space Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet from Naughty Dog in the pipeline. Same shit, different setting, God knows if that thing will get delayed so much it becomes a PS6 launch title.

If they launch it and it is price competitive it is going to be a decent alternative considering the constant sales and the far superior ecosystem The limiting factor is if it is only available for purchase on Steam and the volume it can be produced.

Since it is a SteamOS AMD focused PC it is not out of the question to have third party manufacturer sell console-like prebuilt boxes with similar specs, bundled with a controlled and SteamOS or Bazzite preinstalled for average Joe console gamer to pick up at retail stores. The real issue is to sell said concept to that average Joe, Without proper mainstream advertising and distribution, it'll remain a niche product for those "in the know".

You say that, but notice how Valve’s hardware projects evolved over time.

Steam Link (the set-top box) was an interesting proof-of-concept that evolved into Steam Link (the software that runs on many devices) and is used much more frequently, or it would be if Moonlight didn’t surpass it.

Steam Controllers were a weird niche experience that evolved into the much more loved Steam Input.

Steam Machines were an inconsequential novelty that evolved into the Steam Deck and opened the door for other hybrid PCs, making them relevant to the general public. I have no doubt that a Valve console would be a game changer, especially now that the big three are all fucking up in different ways and people are looking for another solution.

what valve does is different from what the media tackles, you should have known that since steam deck honeymoon period ended only a few articles here and there are launched now and the rumorniggatry towards the steam console valve has been cooking on the kitchen for years.
that is why i said "it's there", steam machine controllers sell for a good buck because they are the extremely precise and have no stick drift, i mean the fucking thing doesn't even have a stick to begin with... unless it's the modern ones.
