Well, I mean what choice do they have ? Naughty Dog is a first party studio, cant can it. They bought Bungie, cant can Marathon. No idea what Guerilla Games is working on, maybe they keep trying to force Aloy down our throats. Santa Monica is most likely working on the next GoW, maybe at the end of this generation or a launch for PS6. Who knows what the retards at Bluepoint are demastering at the moment. That Pajeet game is coming out next year, who knows how that one will turn out. Insomniac's Wolverine is probably at the end of next year.

That AAA development is slowly kicking them in the butt with the laughably long times it takes to shit a game out, but they need first party to sell consoles.

I know that you are joking, but there is a pretty high possibility that that is indeed the case. The public loved the Demon's Souls demake. Brining out Shuhei Yoshida to announce it when Sony under him didn't see the value in that game is just headache inducing. And clearly they don't know what to do with the Bloodborne IP. Don't know what else they could be working on now that Konami is redoing MGS.

I would argue since the PS4. With the massive shift in how games are monetized and revenue is generated, you need a massive install base which in turn will buy PS+, DLC, microtransactions etc. Big exclusives are still a good way to draw people into your ecosystem.

Yeah, their pitch the last two generations has been "You can get an xbox and play all the 3rd party multiplats, or you could get a playstation and play all the 3rd party multiplats AND a couple of 1st party cinematic slops we totally didn't buy reviews for, we just bought multimillion dollar ad campaigns on the sites reviewing them!"

To be fair as of the last progress update it looks like they really buckled down on Marathon using things learned from Arc. No idea if the game will be fun but visually theyre finally taking steps in the right direction.

we do not want anyone modding vulgar versions of the main character as well as other characters in the game.

We hold our voice actresses and actors with high regard, as well as our artistic vision for the game and story and reject any form of destroying that with sexual mods.
