Uma Thurman is neither hot nor slutty in kill bill, but it's still fun and if you're not too far on the soy side to blow girl boss shit and not too far on the incel side to hate women being in anything, you can appreciate a female character fighting through a struggle if it's written and preformed well. I generally dislike playing as women, but I liked the first Hellblade quite a bit so I'm pretty sure it's just the fact that the only choice I get most of the time is some gorilla nigger QUEEN or a cumslut tranime princess. There's a place for female warriors in fiction, it doesn't matter that men can beat a woman's ass in real life, just like it doesn't matter that men don't have superpowers but I play games in which men do fantastical shit.

I thought she was good looking in Kill Bill. But she also looks the same as she has in the past 20+ years. Also, that’s the first time I’ve heard her character was a girl boss. I mean, come on, that’s scrapping the barrel at this point. That’s like saying Ripley or Sarah Connor are girl bosses.

It's complicated. Those women are what we call "strong women". They are women who are and feel strong in a manner that feels earned. The term "girlboss" was supposed to be modern speak for "strong woman". However, because everyone applied the term onto women that either didn't earn their power or are unworthy of it due to bad attitude, the term came to be considered in a manner that is similar to "entitled women" as opposed to "strong women".

Women that gained power without sacrifice yet wish to be held in the same regard as those that did and women who want to be seen as heroes yet they act in a manner unbecoming of someone in position of power and authority have been called "girlbosses" which in turn lead to the term being negatively associated with entitlement and rude behavior by the public. Teela from the Netflix He-Man is an example of the former as someone who wants to not sacrifice any freedoms and yet gain absolute power handed to her. Admiral Holdo (TLJ) and Galadriel (TROP) are an example of the latter as women that are treated like heroes even though they treat others like trash.

In short, while "girlboss" was meant to mean "strong woman", over time it came to mean "entitled, mean woman with power". Some, mainly the left, still try to get the term back to its original definition but they have largely given up as normies tend to associate it with cringe and bad storytelling with unsympathetic characters. Thus, barring exceptions, it has fallen out of use. No one on their right mind would refer to Beatrix Kiddo/Ellen Ripley/Sarah Connor as a "girlboss" today. It is too tainted.

Totally agree with what you said. These female characters should be studied by those writing strong women leads. Both Ripley and Connor are two of my favorite female characters of all time.

If there's one positive, the devs were racist enough that they didn't want any icky mayo monkeys in the story. Quite rare for an anti-male humiliation ritual to not want to poke some jabs as us too.

It is less dead and more in hospital. A lot of things have been greenlit years ago. Not to mention that the creative industries are still staffed with the woke. On the side of the consumer however things are different. Concord, Concord 2, Concord 3, Concord 4, Failguard, Avowed, Suicide Squad, Skull and Bones and many more failed. The normies aren't buying them anymore.

Even among smaller indie projects woke is the dominant belief. Woke has had it's failures, but without any real opposition or counter movement it has no enemies. And it's not like every woke game fails, like BG3 or CP 2077.

Ah yes, BG3 also known as "The game that other studios admitted they can't match". And CP 2077, also known as "more bugs than an ant colony". Here's the thing, most woke are lazy. The guys that are willing to put work into things rarely are really woke. At worst, they are progressives. The woke are entitled and feel that the need to prove their worth in a meritocracy is the patriarchy/fascism/capitalism. They have no enemies? They have. They made enemies out of their customers. How long will they last? They are bleeding money. You think capital grows on trees? Couple of successes don't change the fact that failures outnumber them in every metric. Hit them in the wallet hard enough for a while and they will fold.

No, I wasn't saying she was a girlboss, the other guy said " fighting is a masculine trait. Usually guys also only like them when they have big boobs and are dressed slutty, which makes the whole thing even more ridiculous" I was making the argument that Kill Bill is rad, and there is no overt slutty sexuality to Uma Thurman in that movie. It was a counter point explaining that there can be important roles for women protagonists without being girlboss soy slop or gooner coom slop.

The Bride wasn't exactly a "girl boss" as we know what the term means now. Especially considering that she gets her ass handed to her multiple times (even in her early training she was getting her ass kicked). Her only real motivation was getting back to her kid, which is typically enough to show that weird kind of "parent strength" shine through and give her enough of an adrenaline push to survive. Never underestimate a parents' strength when their kid is in clear danger and they actually know it. This is the first time I've actually seen Beatrice referred to as a "girl boss" as well, and that's just... that's just weird to me.
