Honestly the more news comes out from Sony and Playstation, the more I thank fuck I bought a PC when I did. Is it a prebuilt, yes, but between price spikes of RAM and how most of what's coming out largely doesn't appeal to me anymore, I'll be content surviving off my Steam backlog, nevermind proper emulation...

Disney and Sony were both on top a decade ago, and thought since PlayStation and Star Wars already had the boys, they could exclusively cater to women and get both genders to consume product. Both attempts misfired as the male audience were not as loyal as thought, and women don't become Star Wars or PlayStation fans by making it feminine and gay

As much as I hate sony, this one is easily dumber. Sony fell for all the bullshit "girls make up le 50% of GAMERS*!" propaganda.
*Only if you include candy crush, farmville, bejeweled, etc, which regardless of whether or not you want to defend them, have little if any bearing on AAA console gaming

Disney bought Star Wars specifically because investors told them that they have the girls market on lock thanks to princesses, and they need to spread out and either make or purchase ip that appeal to boys as well. So, Star Wars ( as well as Marvel) was bought for the explicit purpose of owning a boy brand. They then proceed to try and turn these boy brands into disney princess expansion packs.

It’s more that women play a lot of candy crush and other associated mobile titles. Sony’s cinematic lineup is about as far removed as you could possibly get from that.

The consumer spending is just because Housewives are still a thing. Someone has to buy groceries for the family.
 
I got my PS5 for like 380ish dollarydoos. Once the hit the $1000 range I'll sell it and upgrade my PC.
