It's not a copout at all, yes there are people who will build systems with low end videocards just like there are people who are happy with 30fps on a console(if they actually had anything to play on the things). No one was building gaming PCs for $1000 with anything but low end hardware. Hell, $1000 puts you out of the budget for a mid tier card at this point before even considering storage and RAM. Even before pricing got stupid, 16GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD was still going to run you over $300, which at this point easily brings it up to $1500+ for again a mid tier PC build.Lame cop-out to handwave inexpensive but still performant builds to avoid having them dismantle your point.
Speaking of Apple, I think the devastating failure of the Vision Pro (their VR headset) is a perfect example of what I expect to happen with the PS6.Just look at all of the people falling all over themselves to buy $500 apple headphones, or the latest $1000+ iphone. The money exists, people just don't want to spend it when there's no perceived value to be had(as stupid as that perceived value may be).
How the niggercattle move on the PS6 will be really interesting to see, because they're slaves to 'newer is better' but also usually require at least one shiny bauble they can wave in people's faces to show why their new box is superior to all the others.yeah pretty much learning to weigh shit is important, if niggercattle doesn' then does it even matter? they are niggercattle for a reason.
It's tough to say, because Apple also seemingly occasionally goes out of their way to make a product just to have it fail to kill market interest in it or purely to say they did with no real intent to ever do much with it. The apple pippin was a $600 game console released in 1996(I think? might have been 95) discontinued after a year and a half of nothing, worse than the fucking $800 philips CD-I from 1991. Then there was apple's bullshit priced newton PDA from the 90s priced at $2000+ and the handwriting shit didn't even work but for some reason they thought that was worth bringing to market as a product.Speaking of Apple, I think the devastating failure of the Vision Pro (their VR headset) is a perfect example of what I expect to happen with the PS6.
By all accounts the AVP is a fantastic high-end VR device, but even the lunatic Apple fanboys willing to pay full price for their phones and earbuds aren't willing to pony up the cash because VR is a novelty device with little to no practical benefits over the items everybody already owns that do the same thing.
And yeah, it all boils down to the niggercattle and how many of them are willing to buy a ps6 or whatever the helix thing is from Microsoft. It would be nice if the entire generation of consoles failed due to stupid pricing and lack of games, but I don't have my hopes up for that.I'm sure the PS6 will be the most powerful machine Mark Cerny's autism is capable of creating, but why do I need to spend $1,000 on a new box to watch Netflix on and play my PS4 ga-- oh wait I can't do that because it won't have a disc drive unlike my PS5.

I think he was referring to the used market, though that in itself has more to do with having to hunt for competent deals and often times consists of old-old parts (like RX 580s or Post-Core Pentiums for the most part. It's not a copout at all, yes there are people who will build systems with low end videocards just like there are people who are happy with 30fps on a console(if they actually had anything to play on the things). And that's still cheaping out on the cooler and case. Dropping that to an old rtx 3050 for $250 and you're still at almost $1300 with a 2 generation old low end card. You haven't dismantled shit.
mostly brand loyalty but sony obviously overestimates how many snoys they have and how many people just own a playstation.Speaking of Apple, I think the devastating failure of the Vision Pro (their VR headset) is a perfect example of what I expect to happen with the PS6.

Sure, but then he needs to specify the used market. But when we're talking about $800 consoles and the PS5 likely being $1000+, the conversation obviously wasn't about used hardware in the first place. Especially when it's about niggercattle consoomers.I think he was referring to the used market, though that in itself has more to do with having to hunt for competent deals and often times consists of old-old parts (like RX 580s or Post-Core Pentiums for the most part.
I think ya’ll are missing the point. The die hard Sony ponies aren’t going to throw out their decade plus digital library to go buy a PC and rebuild their collection. They will either stick with the PS5 until it dies and buy another second hand, or buy a PS6 because newest sports ball and COD.This. $1000 isn't some unaffordable amount of money. A decent gaming PC costs way more than that and plenty of people have them
