Sony hate thread

PSN outage is an AWS issue that also hit Xbox Live and the Windows Store. Shocking.

uh no, it's not?

If this was really as simple as AWS fucking up, then Microsoft would also have the same outage problems Sony has right now.

Very unhealthy cynicism. Don't worry though. Usually it passes. Except Tier-5 TDS'ers like Whoopi Goldberg or Rosie O'Donnell ... they're probably broken for good. But that makes them unintentionally really fucking funny because they can't stop randomly exploding for no good reason, and they don't have the good sense to avoid the cameras.
Nice novel. Let's remind you again that this is about hating Sony. I love the Nintendo anecdote, but it's lost in your sea of text that goes nowhere beyond my comprehension.

Went to look at their official Xitter to see what'd happened out of curiosity and to the surprise of no one they're maintaining complete radio silence several hours after everything went down, at least at the time of me writing this. One of the biggest electronics companies on the planet and they can't even get an intern to give a boiler plate reassurance.

Sony almost never acknowledges outages until they're over unless they last more than a day or so, and they never publicly state root cause either. Sony's even god-awful at communication. Probably because they're used to it being accepted.

Amazon hasn’t said anything, so nobody downstream will until they do.

Even if AWS was at fault they wouldn't need a green light from Amazon to just put out an innocuous boiler plate statement on their official social media saying that their services are experiencing issues, that they're investigating the issue and that their engineers are working on it. Other companies and services can do that and more just fine when they have outages. It just comes off as unprofessional and funnels people off to the rumor mills of Reddit for answers instead. There are no benefits at all to handling it like they did.

Provider contracts for infrastructure on that level usually have clauses addressing what, if anything, a client is allowed to publicly say about the service provider. Those clauses usually have heavy penalties. Neither Microsoft nor Sony have said a word so far, so you can bet they either can’t say anything until AWS gives them a final report on the incident, or ever.

Again, why would Microsoft have anything to do with this? They didn't have an outage, and they don't operate XBL using AWS except for their shit running on amazon devices like their TVs, stream sticks, and tablets and even then that's basically just due to being part of the app store there.

In case you aren't aware, Microsoft has this whole thing currently called "Azure" which is a direct competitor to AWS, and it's been called Azure since they started launching the various aspects of it back in 2010. This would be like Google have an outage and someone blaming it on AWS, they have their own infrastructure product they use.

Sony uses AWS, and if they didn't they'd just use Google or Microsoft because they don't run their own cloud infrastructure service.

The outage now appears to be resolved, if you faggots can stop arguing long enough to keep the thread on topic.
PSN No Longer Fucked.png
15 years later and Sony's online infrastructure still sucks complete shit.
Real ones remember the PS3's horrendous bandwidth throttling and downloads that couldn't be resumed, like you were using fucking Napster.

  • Demon’s Souls remake: if u never played the PS3
  • Ghost of Tsushima and Yotei: the former released on Steam
lol, who the fuck would want to play DS demaster or Yotei? Awful games
PSN has been down for around 3 hours,

The all digital future is looking great.
Good riddance, I hope the servers keep getting DDoSed for years just so that the digital-only cattle is left with nothing to play.
More like a portion WERE effected, but the witch-hunters must go on.
You're a retard who doesn't know what the word "advertisement" means. Your opinions are less than worthless.

lowkey, a large portion of the "Anti-Nintendo" side is arguably more insufferable than the actual nintendrones. at least with the nintendrones, you can at least laugh at how much they dedicated themselves to one brand and how blindly they clearly hate things because it isn't thier brand.

meanwhile that large portion of the other side has become increasingly more unhinged and explosive year after year as Nintendo does what they have for decades dating back to the NES to their own sucess where a lot of the critisisms and arguements they did have since like 2017 has devolved into "GRRR THEY DON'T MAKE THE GAMES I WANT, THEY'RE GREEDY FOR CHARGING $X AMOUNT OF MONEY OR DOING SOMETHING EVERYONE ELSE HAS DONE BEFORE, THEY SUE EVERYTHING WITH NOOOOO EXECPTIONS AND HATE THAT FANS CAN DO BETTER THAN THEM (ignoring the many, many examples that they haven't and the two most famous examples are nearing a decade old at this point), THEY'RE MAKING EVERYTHING INTO BREATH OF THE WILD, THEY'RE LOOSING AT A LOLSUIT AND OUR PROOF IS THAT THE PATENETS THEY FOUGHT OVER GOT REJECTED, AND IF YOU DON'T PIRATE EVERY GAME THEY EVER MADE YOU'RE A BOOTLICKER", and like... Yeah, they arn't perfect and they did do some really hanous shit before, but why are you continuing to let a corporation stay rent free in your head to such a degree that it even rivals the actual bootlickers? They used to be "better" when you were a child and ignorant about every little thing they did?, So what? that's both every major corporation in the past centrury and no amount of crying crocodile tears and shaking your fist will make that change when they have thier own consumer base that they were targeting that will keep buying because they think the products they offer is good enough for them.

For fuck's sake, not even a similar part of the "Anti-Microsoft" or "Anti-Sony" side has been as absolutely devolved into being as one note and mind numbing, and the former uses whatever the current Windows fuckup as a means to shill for Linux.
Didn't read but both nintendo and sony are gay. Sony is the gayest, but that doesn't make nintendo not gay. Get a PC and emulate.

This guy was born before 1980 btw. Literal grandad gamer playing god of soy and getting scammed by indian "tech support" callers and asking his grandkids to help him unsubscribe to monthly subscriptions he doesn't remember subscribing to.

I've been emulating old games for many, many years now without having to act like I'm sticking it to the man but okay.
Saying Nintendo and Sony are both gay with their subscription service isn't really "sticking it up to the man" but if that's what you call not being a gay consoomer then ok.
