It looks promising to me. There's a really good balance of making fun of 40k lore (and how people who only know about it because of the memes) as well as showing a great amount of appreciation too. Will stick around for future episodes.

Also the jab at Vivziepop and her fanbase at the end made my sides hurt.

I really liked it, I hope they get to make more episodes because this was really peak kino. I thought they couldn't top the first 5 minutes after the reveal, but they did. Dropping this when helldivers is all over the place is genious imo.

Fun little detail, you can see chestnut (which I only now realize why he's called that) rush in to recover Xavery's globules when he dies in the first 3 minutes after delivering the message.

I had a ton of fun with it, even had the twinkle of a tear in my heart at the end with their speech!

For anyone that has access, is the uncensored version just the tits being visible or is there more to it/some more jokes? Of course I would love a closer aesthetics to 40K, but with this they can do whatever the fuck they want, so it's fine. Had fun with their not Tau and creepy sentient Tyranid with khazar milkers.

I do wonder if Space King is the equivalent of a Primarch or the Emperor since I can see it both ways.

Also, RIP to best boy, Hatemonger, truly the core of the team.

The little voice of Space King telling each one that he's the only one special enough to hear him cracked me up, I can see the boys having real fun with that later down the line.

I liked their takes on the designs, it's a darn shame GW is so trigger happy with copyright though, they've really got the suit and expressions down over the course of the great furry wars, although I imagine we'll get some wilder, perfected visuals as the episodes go on and the boys get more chance to experiment.

They've got holy globules of steel for even taking the risk though, I can't help but to wonder if GW has their lawyers picking over it frame by frame already, they're getting as bad as Disney.

Not gonna lie...I kind of would love to see the boys do some Helldivers stuff. Probably get sued less.

Just checked their Patreon, again, and if their $5 pledge is the most popular, they are possibly hitting at least 50k, maybe 80k or more now.
Also, I thought whoever played Space King himself sounded professional, and I was right. Even better? His last role was in the new Rogue Trader, as Heinrix

Watched Space King as a YouTube Recommendation and ended up finding it to be quite good and genuinely funny while having no familiarity with Flashgitz aside from vague recollection of the original 40k vs furries animation from long ago. Certainly funnier than comparable popular web animation of recent like Hazbin/Helluva, Digital Circus, and Lackadaisy. It's refreshing to see 40k parodied with all of its brutality in a manner that comes off as entirely affectionate, not even a whiff of "ackchyually, it's satire of fascism" apologia as if it's from reddit's Sigmarxism or that embarrassing Helldivers fan account. My favorite part is how spot-on the melodrama is to what's exhibited in the actual 40k novels, heaped with machismo and daddy issues from socially-stunted super soldiers while planetary populations are casually wiped out.

The one thing I'm iffy about is what uncensored episodes might entail. It's interesting how there really isn't that much swearing, especially compared to Hazbin/Helluva, and I think it's just fine like that. But more so, I find it to be completely unnecessary to have a full view of giant cartoon alien boobs, though the suggestion of that the uncensored version has that might just be a joke.

Now I wonder if future episodes will use the same four character inexplicably alive again or rotate the cast to others instead. In any case, I believe Flashgitz is much better off with their legally-distinct 40k not just for the purpose of staving off GW lawyers, but also so that they could do whatever they want with their own setting without fuss over "lore accuracy". The aping of 40k will remain very clear anyway, and the armor design works well.

Funny detail you might not have noticed: The mural depicts Space King averting his eyes from alien babes as he puts them to the torch.

I can't believe these are the racist mario guys. They've come a long way. I enjoyed space king even with only knowing the basic 40k stuff! My friend showed me one of their other 40k furry parody videos, but this felt like something really solid that started as a joke. I'm curious how close they'll stick to being a parody or if they spin it off more into its own thing. I did laugh the most at the ad at the end of the video, but it is also funny to hear someone use "retarded" as a punchline in current year. I hope they keep it up or get some kind of deal that lets them keep that creative freedom, but I doubt any streaming service would risk funding a clear 40k parody. Only thing I didn't get was the giant metal talking skull, is that another 40k thing?

Is the demon girl with yellow hair on the right side suppose to be a reference to another animation? It looks like a deviantart oc.

I've been watching Flashgitz stuff for years now. They had a series a while ago called ShowQuest where they tried to develop a concept and pilot for a show to sell to a network, they ended up going through a lot of ideas and ended up with a fully fledged partnership with the now dead and dying studio RoosterTeeth for a show called "Motor Knight". It seemed super promising until the two parted ways over "creative differences" [see video below for more]...

Space King though seems like the first video/hopefully series Tom and Don have put out in a while that I could see going on to be super successful and maybe...maybe be picked up by a studio (even though they explicitly say that's not gonna happen in the video). Really fun concept and great overall production, also like others have pointed out the similarities with Helldivers II and timing have probably helped a lot with interest.

It was a lot of fun. Funny how 40K started as a parody (which didn't survive beyond the first editions) and now gets an even more extreme parody.

The only thing I don't like is the look of the Psycho Armor. Its a shame GW is so sue happy cause the designer and expression they got for the space marines was top notch.
If GW really were bad with copyright then the series wouldn't have been as well known now as it is. Of course it's not total freedom, but there's an entire industry centred around making content that companies like Disney would ban and sue for

The uncensored version post is on Kemono, but the link is just some text file. https://kemono.su/patreon/user/724907/post/99614138

If anyone with a big brain knows how that works, go gettum.

Chestnut retrieves their balls because that's where their geneseed is stored, its used to clone them after they die.

Its why xavery's globulus had a "Last Born" note on it.

That's also why he's called Chestnut. Because he stores their nuts in the container on his chest. It took me longer than I would have liked to realize that fact. Edit: only just saw that you also mentioned it, slow brain is slow.
But as someone who knows nothing of Warhammer or its lore etc, I enjoyed it. From an outsider's perspective, it had an interesting premise, the characters were not bogged down with explanations of who they are etc. and everything flowed well (especially when compared to other web animations out now). I like that the lore of the world is being shown through actions/mentions too rather than big exposition dumps or someone talking about it.
