That's been gone over a couple times now. The simple answer is that she's skirting the law something awful; the Romeo and Juliet laws in their area are particularly forgiving, and the child bride's parents aren't doing anything about Greasetrap squatting in their house and being nothing but unpleasant and a nasty influence on their daughter.

Child Bride is turning into Ashley. They look like really ugly sisters.
