Square Enix Fires Kingdom Hearts 3 Dev For Being A Victim & Industry Ignores It

For anyone looking for a short summary: This took place at Square Enix Japan. The man's coworker, a female superior who continued to get promoted, sexually assaulted him. He was fired, beaten, and told to commit suicide. The poor guy has reached out to Western journalists, and it seems that The Quartering has been the only one to listen at this point.

Doesn't help that big businesses in Japan have shitty practices and people don't want to talk about it. Imagine during the yearly evaluation that regardless of your knowledge, your contributions, and skills, you could still get demoted. If you speak about being sexually harassed that is also grounds for getting demoted, or fired. It's all really messed up.

Lol, what a pussy.

Tell me again how women don't harass men? I thought Japan was more conservative with human rights than the Western world.

It is, but from a different approach.

Heirarchy and position take precedence here. Japanese culture is still very much in the feudal mindset, where lords and warriors could execute a peasant on the spot for disrespect. He just got the axe in a different way.

Are we sure we're talking about Japan and not the BBC?

lol nothing will come of any controversy over this. This is the norm in Japan. Japanese corporate culture is nothing but soul crushing slave labour.

I'm calling hoax, I just listened to the letter and the nomenclature & sentence structure sounds exactly how an American would write something when pretending to be someone who doesn't exist giving deets on internal affairs at a company. A similar thing happened with Star Citizen where somebody claimed to be a floor programmer at the studio, claiming to have a bunch of things that would authenticate their employment when it turned out that the studio never used those things & it was all cooked up to make their story more convincing.

Dude is a moron. If you're ever in this situation, start making recordings and enjoy your huge settlement. I got a friend who has been getting paid more monthly to sit around at home than he was at his old job because he got sexually harassed.

He did exactly that, he allegedly got a video recording of the abuser admitting to committing harassment in the workplace, uploaded it to Youtube and brandished it as blackmail and the company slapped him down. Curiously enough, he hasn't supplied a copy of this video for the rest of us to see & verify for ourselves.
