For @Toji Suzuhara
Will we have a collage/a list of all of them by the end? Some look pretty nice, and I wouldn't want them to be lost
I might do a collage of my actual avatars at some point. But for now have some of my saved, but rejected avatars with some commentary and a future preview for after Nick manages to finally finish falling into his blackhole.

- experimenting with RPG-esque text boxes before I realized text bubbles worked too. There was a short lived plan to make an animated gif with the text box filling in with ridiculous Nick quotes from the cokestream.

Playing with modifiers, this one actually makes me uncomfortable.

- Didn't like the wings and no text bubble plus the one where a random scorpion popped up in the cloud was funny so I went with that instead.

- Didn't prompt for a gun.

- Right hand was weird and the guillotine had the weird double hole thing going on

- Guns for fun after the incidental one pointing at the camera earlier.

- Derivative of my my longest running avatar,
pat pat pat .gif
, I liked the snowy mountains with a hive city in the background, and for some reason brown engineering uniforms help to make the generations less anime if only a little. This one is in the running for a Post-Nick avatar. Might even edit the side patch to be the Kiwi insignia.

Ran my avatar through Luna AI.

That's fantastic. Can you give a little more information what you did? I'm unfamiliar with Lunar AI and some searching led me to a site named nightcafe.studio that had "Lunar AI" on it but I strongly suspect I'm looking at the wrong thing despite the name. Would be pretty cool to see what it could do with my avatar. If anyone is willing, full size version in the spoiler (my avatar is cropped from this).

EDIT: My avatar is NOT topless, btw. Her bra is simply skin-toned.

I think it's supposed to be Luma AI.

How long did you wait in queue? Mine's been at it for the past 3 hours.
Trying logging out and back in. Mine was stuck after 10 minutes and I did that and it was ready. I don’t think the interface will update dynamically.

Significant news for some of us if I'm right about this. @BrunoMattei tagging you for relevance.

(Preface: ROCm is library suite for ML on AMD, developed by AMD themselves).

ROCm 6.1.3 has just released and adds "Beta support for WSL". I haven't tried this yet (will do later) and the instructions rather confusingly refer to WSL not WSL2 so I'm not sure if it might actually use the original WSL which would be a shame but make a kind of sense as WSL original flavour was shell extensions over the Windows kernel rather than an independent VM. Either way though, if I'm understanding this correctly, Windows just (in beta) got ROCm feature parity with Linux. Meaning AMD users on Windows should theoretically be as performant as those on Ubuntu.

That's why I tagged Bruno - don't need to dual-boot or replace Windows with Linux to use Stable Diffusion if so. I may have misread things, I'll be trying it out later and confirm if I've actually got this right or not.

So unless some kind person wants to try my avatar for me

Turns out you were the alien all along!

Meanwhile my avatar was interpreted as a painting from an anime despite me never saying so.

As for generation time, I was logging back in every dozen minutes. They were done after 3-4 hours.

I cannot begin to tell you the joy that your reproduction of my avatar brings me. Technically that this is possible is amazing. But the end result is even better - yes, she was one of them all along. It makes so much sense now.

Seriously, I cannot thank you enough. This is the highlight of my morning. So good. Might use it as my Halloween avatar!

I like the very inventive interpretation it put on yours, too!

Luma can't even tell the difference between parachuting and base jumping, can I get some prompt examples for this thing?
IWF (PDF link) did a report about it

Under UK law it's just as illegal as the real thing (assuming it's photorealistic) so that might drive down its appeal a bit. They're using checkpoints and LoRAs just like the furries and bronies do.
You have to use LoRAs all the time to get decent results, that's been my experience trying to do paintings and landscapes.

That report says very little and I'm no surprised since most foundations exist to profit from a problem, solving it would kill their income.

Yeah, it was a pretty bad report overall. Also not sure what their methodology was to determine if something looked real or not. If Facebook is any indication a lot of people are fooled by pretty obviously AI-generated images.

The UK legal perspective was the most interesting part of it. Distributing the checkpoint isn't illegal but the images generated with it are. I'm waiting for the inevitable malicious Steam Workshop mod that slowly generates CP and stashes it in with your other photos.
