I was playing Command for the first time and was shocked are how awful everyone looked. Looks like Nintendo took that as a challenge to go even harder, even worse

So Star Fox be like this

Star Fox, then a sequel that cancelled in favor of a remake/reimagining (Star Fox 64). Then another game got butchered and turned into a Star Fox game. This was followed by Assault and Command. Ok almost on track. But alas nothing for years, so then we got a port of 64. OK why not. Then finally Star Fox Zero which... was a Remake of Star Fox. And the series was dead until this which is a remake of.... the first remake of Star Fox

There's some decent animation work going on from what was shown off imo. The expressions are more subtle, but Fox in particular has a lot of character.

Except it's a remake of star fox 64 going by the first stage. I noticed they toned slippy down intensely into "whoelsome reddit buddy" guy at least in this new english dialogue. Seriously compare it to the OG star fox and 64...

I actually don't mind the style. I don't particularly care what the characters look like at this point, I just want a decent new StarFox game that isn't a remake. There's infinite lore and world building you can do with the StarFox universe and they just choose to never take advantage of it. It feels like Nintendo hates Fox and reluctantly does some retarded shit with him here and there just to appease/shut up the fans begging for something new. Everything with that IP is so low effort, apathetic and lazy.

If they're too lazy to be creative could the team at least continue gameplay wise where Assault left off? Assault was a good sequel and Star Fox 64 fans can bite me if they argue otherwise. It was leading the franchise into the next logical steps and Command completely shat on that leading to the Star Fox we're stuck with now. I seriously don't get it--Assault had both types of gameplay people wanted with flying, tank, and on foot.
