Star Fox did get a sequel, it's called Star Fox 2, and mercifully a full version was released with the SNES mini. As to why nintendo cannot fucking make a new Star Fox game, I have no real idea.
Starfox 64 is probably my favorite game and If they made this for the regular switch I would consider buying a used one just to play it. But there is no way I can talk myself into buying a switch 2 just to play it. I suppose I'll just break out the 64.

I just want to play a game with cute fuzzy animals blowing shit up. The new designs are growing on me a little because they do remind me a bit of the old SNES comic. It's kinda funny to see them so realistic and melodramatic. But Starfox has always been the (literal!) red-headed stepchild of Nintendo so I guess fans are lucky we got anything at all.

Most people in the SF fandom feel that way. I kinda feel this way. But at the same time my taste and opinions don’t influence things. The best course of action is to chug along and keep moving forward with whatever endeavors we have going.

Dude is definitely forcing it, he complains for years about nu-Zelda ruining his perfect vision for his Game of Thrones tier fanfic, to the point he abandoned said projects because it is more "rewarding" to please a starving fanbase and now he comes with this "buah, buah it is Star Fox 64 again".
Honestly I don't think he just does it for attention, I mean he wasn't in a particulary good mental spot for some time because the former official voice actor of Wolf and Bill with whom he worked together died suddenly on top of other unfortunate stuff that happened around him.
And I mean he also has to be somewhat autistic about it because otherwise he wouldn' bring out this massive project mostly on his own.
Hell he admitted that he had to leave the new Mario movie because he disliked the portrayal of Fox so much.
And regarding the Zelda stuff I think there was a weird discussion about the fact that a new Zelda game introduced a new character that was similar to one of his OCs which caused some slap fights about whether or not they took the idea from him, though I don't think he was much personally involved in that.
But yes he often can't shut up about the fact that he dislikes Breath of the Wild.
