Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

It'd be the fastest - and simplest - way to show whether or not A&H is the source of the "problematic" posters the people who hate A&H keep incessantly pissing and moaning about.

I like how a couple A&H regulars are sperging about how "our percious forum" will be nuked or censored, without acknowledging why or how it has gotten to that point.

A fair chunk of A&H posts are racist memes and talking points against minorities, transgenders, liberals, Jews and everywhere in between. It's hard to get a word in edgewise without the most popular post being some obvious low-effort post demeaning a whole population of people.

That being said, Null gave you that containment space so y'all can do what you want. You should be fortunate enough you even HAVE the opportunity to be edgy, boomerish or just plain racist on a forum site. Most moderators s would just throw the banhammer down and axe the whole thing.

You're complaining about losing A&H, but you're not doing anything to self moderate and clean up the space you occupy FOR FREE. And that toxic atmosphere is seeping onto other parts of the website. Guess where most if not, all of it is coming from? It's affecting the reputation of Kiwi Farms; keep it up, and then you'll have to find somewhere else to voice your ... "opinions" on.

As a member of one of the minority groups you mentioned that regularly gets pummeled in A&H, I'd like to ask who the hell you are, because I've never seen you in here. I've gotten along just fine in here without you since I came to the farms and settled into A&H, and I sure as fuck don't need you white knighting for me now. You want to campaign to get this board that you don't even use nuked, go ahead. But don't use my people to get what you want, becausae you don't give one flying fuck about us, and you never fucking did. Not everyone accepts the premise that there are a, quote, "mass volume of autist" leaking out of AnH that are contributing to this supposed problem. Please provide evidence to show the validity of the premise such that simple enforcement via the pre-existing moderation system is insufficient. I have asked this repeatedly as well, and everyone has, to quote again, "failed to answer."

I don't know about site-wide because I can only see what's filed in A&H, but I can tell you that on average there's probably 10-20 reports filed against posts here every day, and 99% of the time it's either for formatting the OP in a new thread, the thread being improperly placed in A&H instead of a different board, or for double-posting. Funnily enough the misplaced thread reports are nearly exclusively from a single user. The double-post reports also come from almost exclusively a single, different user.

I think it's interesting that for all the kicking and screaming you see in this thread, the A&H board itself generates basically no actual reporting that isn't related to those two topics. Any of the reports that legitimately are about "This person is shitting up the thread" are an even split between Left-leaning or Right-leaning users, though. It might lean a little bit more towards Right-leaning users filing a report, but not very much at all, and again: These reports are actually pretty rare.

There's literally no way to be connected to the internet and avoid finding people who scream about nigger Jews every 15 minutes. The problem that I have with it in A&H is that it has a propensity to kick the entire thread into a screaming match about 13% and Zionists and it's never a new argument.

It's like someone throws a switch on these people and they start hammering out talking points on their keyboards. It's creepy.

TBH I try not to report too much. I'm more likely to mock them and move on in A&H. I missed any Da Joo sperging in the Yaniv threads, but I have seen them get derailed by Canucks arguing about Leafland politics.
