Would it be ok If I suggested there be a blanket sticky thread on each subforum where people can kick around ideas for threads they are thinking of doing so that we can cut down on both repeated threads and unintentional shitposting by well intentioned neophites? aside from this it may also help people develop potentially good ideas into workable and attractive topic headers and help troubleshoot any possibility of repetition, alogging, or white knighting.

Good idea. I usually post my ideas on the chat before it turns into good ideas for threads.

Yeah, that seems like a pretty good idea.

I'd be more interested in some sort of "This has been discussed" notice. Something to grab the well-meaning-but-clueless "Let's make a CWC documentary film" and "I know! Chris can go to a publicly-funded group home!" threads.

Anyone remember that one thread that Lucrid made that catalogued all the already made threads so this kind of thing would be avoided?

Indeed. And of course, the problem is, newbies never read it before making their first post. It's a damn fine piece of work, though. What might be useful is some sort of condensed version of very long-running topics, partnered with links to the appropriate threads. Maybe something like this:
Q: Can Chris go to a group home?
A: It's incredibly unlikely. They aren't free, no one is willing to pay for it. He can't legally be forced to against his will, and he doesn't want to go. See: Group Homes For Autistics, Would Chris benefit from a group home for autistic adults?

Q: Wouldn't Chris be a great subject for a documentary film?
A: Not really. The CWCki does a far better job of documenting Chris than any film could, plus it avoids the legal, financial, and ethical issues of trying to obtain new footage of the Chandler family (who are most certainlty not interested in participating). Chris is a complicated subject, and a single narrative is unlikely to capture him in a fair perspective. See: Kickstarter-esque fundraiser for CWC Documentary

Q: What happens to Chris when Barb dies?
A: Neither Barb nor Bob have indicated any formal plan for their son once they have expired. Essentially, he will be on his own with a slightly larger tugboat. There are varying opinions as to how well Chris will manage to pay his own bills and maintain the house. See: The Future: Speculation

Not trying to downplay the Lucrid/Katsukitty collaboration, just wondering if some sort of Reader's Digest effect would be beneficial.

Maybe make it so that those guidelines appear when you click the New Topic button?
