Clinching never really worked for me though because the enemy always ends up out of range for my follow up strike unless there's a wall behind them. But that could be because I'm using axes and maces.

Well yeah, it's called a longsword for a reason. That and there are a few clinch outcomes depending on what you press. The pommel strike is the one that keeps them in close range. The kick sends them out of short range.

This is giving me the impression that he 100% saw synth's comments challenging his stance live and actively ignored him, he's not even willing to say his name here, despite accusing him of never playing the game and only interested in killing games. wouldn't surprise me if Synth showing up in the first place is what pushed him to Delete fucking everything.

That one guy was right that he should be trying for clinches at his stage. But he also went with maces instead of longswords, so he can't spam the three different combos that all strike the most vital area your enemy can have.

Since this game is supposedly realistic I can understand why he didn't pick a one handed sword to fight with because they don't do jack shit against anyone wearing armor irl. Unless you exclusively stab people even gambeson can protect against a sword pretty well. Once your enemy is equipped with chain mail you can basically forget using a sword at all.

all they could have done is not have this shit in the game in the first place, if anyone said that the first game should've had a gay romance option when it released, you would've been accused of being the "kind of people that screamed at the sky when trump won" like Mack is trying to paint people as now.

the biggest thing that they could've done to avoid a lot of this pre-release backlash is to Tell vavra "shut the fuck up, stop starting shit before our game releases after shitting on Dragon age for the same shit we're about to do"

Oh yeah. It's useless against heavy armor. Longsword combos that strike the head are invaluable though because the face is almost always unprotected. A clinch pommel/shield strike into a stab/swing to the face is universally effective. I prefer axes for my one-handers and in general outside of KCD.

In terms of Star Wars i watched all 6 movies last week due to being home because of a winter storm and snow. I have a deeper appreciation for the prequels (I never hated them) and will admit Phantom Menace is very boring. The Force Awakens is the best one out of the sequel films but i digress.

"Same thing with these "Fandom Menace" types - everything is woke until that one thing you like and want to be good is woke too (God of War Ragnarok, Silent Hill 2 Remake, etc), then suddenly you're too much of a noticer for saying exactly what they would for any other thing."

This mentality with something you see a lot with these culture war types. It's also ok to call it out until it's not ok mostly because it's the modern slop that is acceptable to be liked but not acceptable to criticize.

(Long Rant Incoming) We had hopes that The Force Awaken would do what it was supposed to since narrative it follows the same formula as A New Hope albeit more modernized so it doesn't go as fast. One thing i noticed while watching all the films is that it's 2 hours but feel like 20 minutes which is crazy to me. I thought it was just me getting older and more mindful of my own time so when something wastes it i can almost physically feel it but it does feel like most of the time when i somehow want to be interested in a modern action flick (MCU or DC slop, Star Wars, etc) i swear they just drag on and on and on. Back to Star Wars though it feels like after The Force Awakens they started phoning everyone in because whatever game plan they had to set up with was either misconstrued or just thrown out for whatever the director wanted.

This reminds of the video "Star Wars Can't Grow Up"
I know Mauler and some of the other EFAP folks be on some clown shit but he is right on the nail with how Star Wars like most of these franchises nowadays are stuck in a loop. It's crazy because we hear about how this thing is a problem from the past and how the new thing is to move things forward only for the new thing to reference old things to be relevant bacause people like the old things more because they were entertaining. Without bringing Anakin and Vader back, Ahsoka is an incredibly uninteresting series because it takes a character people like and made her boring then put her in an equally boring world despite being Star Wars. I never trusted Mandalorian despite liking the concept and there have been dozens of these shows. Obviously peolpe don't watch Star Wars for boring melodrama and only boring melodrama the first films set the precedent for what people wanted but instead we get these one off shows that have the same themes. Kenobi, Andor, Ahsoka they're all dribble for house wives and shills who consume everything by talking loudly about it on social media then wonder why these shows die due to lack of viewership.

Most entertainment is woke. The original Star Wars is also woke. I was never that into it, so it's probably easier for me to accept that it's just the woke of the past, with a token Black character and, for the time, a real boss bitch. It's about a people in exile, persecuted by space fascists, who are chosen by the one true god to lead a revolution with a diverse group of people to overthrow the fascist order.

If you actually create something based, not just yesterday's woke but something that portrays a deeper truth, you get a lot of heat for it.
For example, look at the backlash to the book Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein.

There is a top-down cultivation of the arts to stay woke.
As long as the right people don't take over and dominate art, this will remain the paradigm, and you'll have to accept woke elements in your entertainment.

I enjoy the Mass Effect series, but I would never defend all the woke garbage it contains.

Just don't be a fanboy and get your panties in a bunch when someone points out that the thing you like has subversive, woke elements in it.

Glad people enjoy his content but I gotta say, skimming some pages there were a lot of moments where I thought this entire thread was one big shitpost with how much they praised Synth.
I don't want to just take credit for the inevitability of entropy but the Tells It Like It Is guys never hold onto their integrity. Spoony, Bill Burr, many others. There usually isn't a lot of substance at the end of the day. Just saying not to lick his boots.

Edit: reading a fan wiki about him... yeah he's "battled depression" and has "schizo" beliefs. Trust me, don't polish his rod too much.
