Feedback Technical Grievances

It seems that if an user has no profile background and a rather large avatar, the info box on their profile doesn't scale correctly, resulting in this overhang, which can go onto the tab buttons below.

Seriously, what is up with the site? Sometime it works, most of the time it's like trying to access a website through dialup while it's being DDoS'd. I've pretty much just resorted to opening a tab and then going to watch a video or something while I wait for it to either load or error.

Specifically it seems fine and snappy one minute, then gradually slows down for a while. Wish I could be more helpful but I already know you're dealing with server issues.

My guess: either the server is doing fine and your request can be served instantly, or it's overloaded and it'll have to wait.

The standard solutions to this are to throw money at the problem, radically rewrite the forum software, or to do various disgusting hacks to prioritize common stuff like reading threads over rare stuff like searches.

The site was working fine like a week ago. Null said it was an issue with backups being queued too frequently or something, he fixed it and the site seemed fine for a minute but now it's sluggish and erratic again.

Couldn't it just be the load? A lot of people want to discuss the election.

Everything loads pretty quickly for me except attachments in posts. For example in a lot of posts I see a few empty lines and after about 30 seconds an image pops into existence in those lines which pushes the rest of the page down. That can get irritating when I'm reading a long post that's 10th on the page and suddenly a shitton of images start loading consecutively above it. Videos also play for 2-3 seconds and then buffer for about 30-60 seconds, even if the video is only 5 seconds long, after that they generally play continuously without any more buffering.

Is anybody having issues seeing archived videos on mobile? I’ve used Chrome, Safari and Brave and nothing shows. Is it just me or universal to iphone? It seems to be every video, and is a problem with cows like Chantel, who post when I’m sleeping then regret and delete before I wake.

It’s not new but now is consistent.

I know it works on my laptop but I’m almost always on mobile. Thanks....

Having issues with:
  • Quoting still not working on Chrome (iPhone/PC)
  • Images breaking and not sure if they are just broken for me or for everyone else
  • Drafts not saving, even if I save them manually, and they end up getting deleted when I'm trying to either draft or post something
 
The last two days when I've been uploading videos the 'insert' option doesn't come up for me most of the time after the video has been loaded. Still happens if I delete the attachment and re-upload or refresh the page and re-upload.
 
Bug Report: Alerts from Chat still display on menu, but not in the actual alert. This is despite me being aware of their existence.

I just noticed this says "infastructure outrage" instead of "infrastructure outage." "infastructure" should be fixed but you can keep "outrage" since that works too.
