Feedback Technical Grievances

I switched to the Kawaii theme and it completely blew up the layout of the entire site to the point of unusability and I was unable to revert back to biden blue - I was only able to change it back because I was cookied on another machine
If you Ctrl+A to select all, that can make it much easier to see the "Style chooser" link if the theme (or broken theme) makes it damn-near invisible.

Came to +1 the 429s.

Appears to be happening most often when I attempt to give a sticker.

Additional info:
Brave for iOS
PIA VPN (happens without as well)
Same on using brave, but for android. Just had a 429 pop after only a couple of minutes of logging in. It seems like it's just getting more egregious.

Still having a problem where unless I use the [] button for posts, quote and/or reply is still borked.
It breaks up the quote, forces huge gaps between paragraphs, makes my reply look like part of the quote, and all kinds of weird shit.
Sorry I know this might not be very helpful I don't know the tech terms for this problem.
Only way I can get quote/reply to work where it's useable is by leaving that button on.

This happens to me too on my phone but I thought it was something wrong with my phone. It was doing the same when I was editing blogger pages.

Rate limit's getting hit by only viewing maybe two different threads and attempting to sticker a couple posts. Is someone just assraping the site through every popular VPN or is something just breaking?

I'm getting 504's on clearnet using my usual smooth Netherlands VPN. OK browsing on Tor so far apart from using stickers, but I've not tried to post yet.
Edit: posting like a charm!

Gotten a few apparent cookie issues this week. All in the Tor Browser.1674188754555.png

It's noticeable when I go to react to a post or access somewhere that requires I be logged in. If I try to log back in then it says I'm already logged in.

Usually I just log out but once I was exceptionally bored and it seems to have fixed itself after a few minutes. Waiting a bit fixed it this time, too.

Finally figured out why the onion's bot check page was broken on Brave's Tor. It was complaining about scripts being loaded over http for some reason. I was able to turn off some retarded setting in the Shields pop-down and it started working again. So I guess that might help someone.

This only occurs on my tablet and only when accessing this site.

Every 6 or 7 seconds whenever I'm trying to type something, the replys get fucked, and by that I mean:

whenever I'm replying to someone, my response and reply get merged for no reason after about 6 seconds.

I don't know whether this is a problem because of the recent modifications to this site or something with archive today's archive[dot]is portal.

Yesterday all my archive links in a post broke (turned to plaintext).

Looks like the problem is due to this:

If you navigate to the archive[dot]is portal manually it works like it always did. However, if you try to navigate to the archive with a hyperlink, you get redirected to their archive.md portal (obviously the archive you made itself is still there).

I don't know why this affects this site though, unless the redirection registers as a broken link (from this post I noticed that you can't even type archive[dot]is out without it being aurocorrected by the site software).

The problem is that there are going to be a lot of broken archive links in older posts now, which users can't edit.

Workaround going forward is obviously to link archives using the archive.md portal and linking the archive.md version.

Note: obfuscation used to break hyperlinks so that they wouldn't be changed.

Could we please remove (or change) the Horse Face smiley? THe code for it is "colon c"

The issue with this specific one is it actually ruins the link in chat to the MATI stream on odysee "https://odysee.com/@mati:c/mad-at-the-internet-2023-01-20:6"

Also I suggest any other "unclosed" smiley be reviewed to make sure it does not do the similiar.

*and wow is kind of annoying can we at least put the : in front of it so people can actually say wow?

It looks like the chat page is having issues, and the servers went down just now. Any idea what's going on?

I was browsing a thread, using my smartphone and via clearnet (no VPN), and wanted to respond to someone but got an 429 "too many requests" error. Now I can't access the Farms via smartphone/clearnet/no VPN anymore.

Tor works fine on both PC and smartphone. Accessing the Farms via clearnet on PC (with and without VPN) works fine too.

I turned off wlan and restarted both my router and smartphone but still get the 429 error on my smartphone.

Happens regularly to me as well, if I change my IP in any way it works again. I assume there's a filter of max requests per minute per IP to fend off bot attacks and if you are a fast reader / go through highlights you can reach that limit even as a normal person

Some threads OPs set it off too if they have a lot of attachments.
