Feedback Technical Grievances

Keep getting "429 Too Many Requests" while logged on in the tor browser. Am I just retarded
edit before anyone get's on my case about using tor, better safe then sorry.

So, after months, the forum will finally load for me.... on my office computer. I still get the landing page that tells me to reload on my home computer. I'm using the same VPN on both computers, so I have no idea why it refuses to load on the home PC. Any ideas?
Have you tried the usual CTRL+F5 or CTRL+SHIFT+F5?

I feel like chat being embedded everywhere is significantly slowing down things. It's a feature I'm never going to use and wish I could turn it off

For some reason it was raping my system (memory and processors use, via some kind of error that slowed down the entire site) so I had to block it. I used noscript (unchecking "frame" in noscript on firefox takes care of it) but some embedded media in posts also gets nuked. I wish there was an option.

I use it sometimes, and would use it more in the future, but would like an option to turn it off. Also sometimes it has a big 429 error in it.
Edit: Site performance is atrocious.

The site often fails to load. This is the tracert during one such times.

For comparison, this is the tracert when things seems to work normally

Speaking of Brave mobile, I using Brave Mobile and I am running into an issue where the Jack Scalfani thread has busted formatting for some reason. All of the text, media, and links are there, but none of the formatting is correct.

Every other thread loads correctly.

In most(but not all) cases a formatting problem means your browser somehow cached a broken CSS or JS and is not updating it because it thinks it's correct for some reason. You may need to tell your browser to clear all Cached Images and files(Chrome) Cache(Firefox) and always chooose "All Time" or "Everything"

Getting overwhelming majority 502s and "This page is not working" the last couple hours. Takes like eight or so refreshes for a page to load correctly.

EDIT: seems to have fixed itself already, lol

I'm getting some weird shit where formatting won't fully load, even if I refresh. I have to go to a new page for it to get normal. (Not 100% sure if it's a problem with my laptop, or the site? I'm useless with tech shit. But other sites work OK)
I'm using Brave, too- Sounds like the same issue @Sexy Potoo is having (JFSKingCobra thread, for me)

Try Ctrl+F5 and if that doesn't work then try changing the style. (to default if it isn't already and then back again later)

Anything I archive from "Archive,is" is being automatically changed to "Archive.md" and the text doesn't even change to a link text. I can't even link any word in a sentence because the link just disappears from the text (e.g. putting an archive link in the word (Archive) will make the link disappear)
This has bitten me a few times recently. Could the "archive.whatever" rewriting filter be disabled? It doesn't appear to be helpful anymore, just breaks my links.

I was having this issue on Android for the past week or so. Thankfully clearing the cache fixed it.

Site has been having on and off slowness for the past couple of days. It'll be working fast for a bit and then be running slow like a DDOS attack is going on, and then it'll be running fast again like nothing happened. I just got an error message that the site "might be down temporarily or moved to a new address" or some such a short while ago. Issue resolved itself in a bit by waiting a minute or two and refreshing.

If you use the uBlock Origin extension (available in Chrome & Firefox), these will block the chat:

Static filters ("My filters" tab in the settings):
Code:
||kiwifarms.net/test-chat$subdocument
kiwifarms.net##.hb-chat--block-container.block-container

Dynamic rules ("My rules" tab in the settings):
Code:
kiwifarms.net wss://kiwifarms.net/chat.ws websocket block
kiwifarms.net https://kiwifarms.net/test-chat xmlhttprequest block
kiwifarms.net https://no-cookie.kiwifarms.net/js/happyboard/chat/ script block
