Feedback Technical Grievances

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
As usual if your retard software blocks it, submit a false positive report with the vendor and add an exception. (Google: softwarename url exception)

This is how their(HosTeam) routes always look like. It has to do with their DDoS-Protection, they drop some of incoming routes(mainly for ICMP-based attack protection):

It may look weird, but it does not affect performance. They have the best DDoS-Protection in Poland, specifically crafted for high risk targets(Polish TeamSpeak servers and banking sector which they also host). They are used to dealing with "toxic" communities, very popular on TeamSpeak 3 scene in Poland - one of the most toxic communities filled with stresser owners attacking eachother. And somehow gotten in to hosting the largest payment processors in country. They are a very big dog, and transit providers know it. Lumen/Level3 (which HosTeam also uses) forced KF out of a few datacenters, even recently in Terrahost Netherlands. HosTeam either ignores Lumen cries, or Lumen is scared to even bother them considering how big and enterprise focused they are.
Very well regarded provider on Polish scene, true passionates that would take calls in the middle of the night to patch new DDoS attack vectors affecting their customer.

They even tell you to tcpdump traffic when there is a DDoS affecting you, and send it to them for patching:

Either way, I don't see HosTeam dropping(or having to) KiwiFarms anytime soon. They prove once again to be extremely reliable. Josh also used it on .NET during the most heat and they didn't complain. 🇵🇱

For some reason I couldn't access the site yesterday on the clearnet by typing just the URL.

Then it worked now by adding the "https://" to it.

ETA: now it works either way

The Farms uses HSTS. This is a security feature where a website tells web browsers to only connect via https, never http, to assure that no one connects insecurely. However, the browser has to have accessed the website once in order to be told this (although there is also "HSTS preload" where the browser comes shipped with a list of known https-only sites).

So when you only typed the domain, your browser defaulted to http, which evidently does not work at all (it just spins). However, once you visited the https site, the browser received the HSTS directive, and thereafter defaults to https when you enter the raw domain.

Is the hurricane electric happening the reason why the .pl domain isn't working anymore? I can't even get it to work on tor. I just get this.

when I try to access the clearnet site, I get the Kiwiflare page, and then the following message:
Received a client error in reply. Please try again.
what mean plz

I don't really know how DDoS attacks work, but given how many hours this has been going on it must be either be costing a lot of money, or somebody got girl talked into providing their service for nothing? It's like dealing with a full blown tantrum, it's such a hollow victory. To declare to the world that you're so frustrated that you're willing to spend time and money on temporarily interfering with somebodies use of a website.

Been getting these yesterday on .pl domain. I assume its somehow related to the DDOS

I'm getting a proof of work captcha almost on every page load. And in 80% of cases, it causes an error (the server returns a 422 status in response to the chalenge answer).

I imagine its because the ddos protection gets more aggressive as the severity of the ddos increases.
I personally reccomend TOR to ride out the storms.

The .pl site is stuck on the stealth theme and is basically eye rape, to say nothing of the ddos making it unusable. Tor has definitely been the more usable option.

If kiwifarms.pl is up uninterrupted for any length of time Google will start indexing it again. Then normies will start getting kiwifarms results for relevant searches. We can't have that.
