Feedback Technical Grievances

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I don't think the system even thumbnails videos so that should not matter.

yeah there's some weird ass issue with files over a certain size just fucking breaking.

if anyone wants to fuck around and see if there's actually a precise file size that breaks, that might help me identify it.
I'm having files fail that aren't even 3 megs if they are a video file. Only video file size that worked for me was under 1 meg today.

This morning and last night everything was fine though.

Tried various mp4 files.

Fully uploaded:
67.9KiB
259.8KiB
363.5KiB
606.9KiB

Appeared to be fully uploaded but with no "insert" option (Pictured):
709.3KiB
740.7KiB
806.5KiB
899.4KiB
uploaded with no attach option.png

Stalled at 100%, no further progression:
1.1MiB
5.0MiB
7.2MiB
9.6MiB

Multiple attempts were made with the files missing the "insert" option inlcuding cache clears, changing VPN/TOR entry and exit nodes (VPN is Mullvad on their DNS, checked between multihop and one IP through various EU IPs), signing into a new session and moving between TOR and clearnet ().st). It looks like between 607KiB and 708KiB things start to get unreliable. Browsers attempted for clearnet are Firefox and Librewolf and extensions were toggled between attempts incase that was a factor, no change in results. Hope that helps a bit.

I just had to fuck around rezising images to finally get one to upload correctly. I can confirm 670 KB was to big, but 436KB worked.

Also tried to upload images of different sizes and parsing response failed happens if they are over 1 meg.

Maybe we filled the sites hard drive again? 😕

Yeah I just attempted to upload a 1.2MiB jpg, a 1.7MiB gif and a 705.5KiB mp3. They're all stuck at 100% as well and if the progress bar does "complete", the files end up with no "insert" option again. Doesn't look like it's isolated to just video formats anymore, rip. Looks like the issue can potentially be further narrowed to any file over 607KiB at this stage.

I think most of the issues with media not uploading to Tor is related to the node you're connected to. If I'm having issues, I just reset the node until it starts working. I would assume this comes from me connecting to someone's 10 year old Raspberry Pi.

I'm trying to harass a crazy person by uploading a video of Bossmanjack cracked out and losing it all to her profile, only for the upload to either get stuck at 100% or giving me an error message calling me a stupid nigger telling me to contact the administator.
This is the video

like.. since i made that post? I'm changing things like all the time, so you have to be more clear than "at some unspecified point in the past".

I'm still having issues with files above a certain size not having the insert option. MP3 format in particular (haven't tested others), but only on clearnet. Tor via Brave is fine for me.

For me, saving the draft and reloading the page usually makes all the attachments become insertable when this happens. Sometimes I need to reupload one.

I have attempted this method myself in both the attach files and the insert video area. It did not save the draft when I did the save draft button too. The file in question was a .mov. while trying to add my screen shots of what I did to the message, I also tried the save draft method. You cannot see the photos because they did not save or upload.

Hmm, you're right. I just tried attaching a 1.7Mb gif and a 3.2Mb mp3 (Brave browser, .ST clearnet). Both files did the same thing you reported, upload completes then never becomes insertable. Saving draft and reloading the page just causes them to vanish.

Did you try hitting 'post reply'
Rude.

Here's something strange. I swapped from Brave to Mull browser and my attachments do upload, albeit quite slowly. (I used a mp4 here as I realized my audio track was actually an m4a which the forum software doesn't seem to recognize, the m4a did upload though)

Did you try hitting 'post reply' anyway, to see if the attachment was there in your final post? Try that it works for me.
Wasn't very effective for me. tried posting a video to my profile and tried posting a screenshot with your method.

Was rekata a static image? because if its only audio was playing.
