Feedback Technical Grievances

  • The Kiwi Farms was targeted with a historic DDoS attack last week. Confirmed reports of 2.8Tbps on an individual provider, topping 4.8Tbps when known volumes are added together, and possibly up to 8Tbps if the attacker is believed. This is the third of fourth largest recorded.

i dont know if this applies in current year but in the days of the irc controlled botnet you could tell if something was automated vs a coordinated effort using the IP and times on the log. If the overall "graph" looks like a set of waves regardless of location its probably an automated attack, but if different locations seem to be stepping on each others toes then its a coordinated attack using something like LOIC.

Is this just something happening to me? Why do I upload a totally normal image file and it ends up like this?

What the FUCK?

Because you are on Tor, which disables the Canvas by filling it with junk, and you are using CTRL+V into WYSIWYG, which pastes images into Canvas to upload them, which renders that, because Tor disables Canvas by filling it with junk. Enable Canvas.

I never use CTRL+V but yes, I am on Tor.

Low-urgency request: Unrelated to DDOS attack bc it started before then, but on phone I'm getting the full browser view (with background) rather than the mobile view, so everything is tiny/ hard to read. 99.9% it's something I did, probably while carrying the phone with the site open & so touching something, but I'm not seeing where/ how to flip it back to what had been the mobile-friendly default. Anyone who can direct me to being less frustratingly stupid will go to their heaven of choice.

Check you did not enable "desktop site" mode for the page. On Firefox mobile its under the 3 button menu in the top right as a toggle. If you are on Chrome (niggercattle) or Brave then it should be in a similar place.

You probably have alot to worry about, but I should point out that you cannot make OP in A&N using the mobile phone TOR Onion Browser as the sub forum requires the selection of a "prefix" but the Onion Browser for Android is unable to recognize the "Prefix" drop down menu as an interactive button. So making OP's in A&N with the Android Onion Browser is blocked by a technicality.

All other menus seem to work, but for whatever reason the browser views the "select prefix" menu as part of the text box and instead of selecting it and bringing up the drop down, it instead asks if I want to select all, copy, paste or cut. This could be fixed however you want, or by just removing the hard block on selecting a prefix in A&N with a default "no selection".
