Babbling chinks like this is why I rarely ever bother actually asking a question somewhere like chinkoverflow and pajeetexchange. I get that problem when using the Tor browser, but I can fix it by just clicking the lock icon to the left of https://kiwifarms.net/ in the address bar and then clicking on the "New Circuit for this Site" button.

It seems the DDOS protection (Layer 7) triggers for all sub domains while on Chrome on iOS.

I am almost constantly getting errors when trying to check things like reaction lists and notifs/messages. I also get the ddos protection for basically every page, so I suspect that the issue is that I’m somehow using my “allowance” (Null stated the ddos check is replacing the 429 errors, so I assume there must be some threshold) loading the page, then every thing after that doesn’t load/429s (on mobile so I can’t see what error, specifically) until the ddos protection gets to do another check with another page reload.
