Has anyone ever gotten the invidious player to work? I dont think ive ever once had it actually play the video being linked, it either just crashes or sits there buffering endlessly.

Is there some sort of step i missed to make it function?
It's worked for me bumpily on clearnet. At first the applet shows up as invalid before loading.

@Null I think something is wrong with your Invidious instance. I have never gotten a Youtube video linked here via Invidious to play, and trying to open the video off-site through your instance also fails, but other Invidious instances (I tried the iv.melmac.space and iv.ggtyler.dev instances for testing purposes) load immediately.

I can only assume it's some issue with your instance.

Hello, I have another account here with a lolcow.email address, but it was locked at some point for security reasons. Now I won't receive the password reset email at that email address.

What do?

I can't remember when this became a change, but deleting bookmarks from the bookmarks tab now takes you to the front page every time, no matter where you are, even if you're in the dedicated bookmarks page. It's really annoying. Is there a way to fix?

I'm not able to edit a post I made for some reason. I know there's a time limit on editing, but this post was made about an hour ago

I've been having issues with video uploads recently. Unless I heavily compress them, they won't upload, even for short videos. Even then, it can take multiple attempts before it finally allows me to insert. Other attachements like audio and image files work fine, and the site has been running smoothly otherwise.

Have you tried doing it over Tor? Video files are the only thing I jump on the onion for to upload.

I have the same issue on Firefox, and the console error in question is:

VIDEOJS: ERROR: (CODE:4 MEDIA_ERR_SRC_NOT_SUPPORTED) The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported.

Oddly, other instances work. However, other browsers do not present the issue. Do you use Firefox?

I do, but i use Brave on my phone and i don't ny think our embedded videos work particularly well on mobile either.

Well, it seems that what happens in my case is this instance attempts to retrieve videos from googlevideo.com servers of similar addresses to:

Code:
rr1---sn-5uh5o-f5fs.googlevideo.com

...with the number after the rr changing. That seems to be different servers within an IP range of 194.9.25.*, where * is different. rr1's IP ends in 76, rr2s is 77, and so on. These addresses indicate destination net unreachable if I try to ping them.

Other instances call different servers, such as:

Code:
rr1---sn-vgqskne6.googlevideo.com

...with different IP ranges, in this case 173.194.191.*, starting at 173.194.191.102. These addresses are reachable.

Regarding what I said earlier, I first tried with Opera, and they just quietly changed the googlevideo address which is why it worked. Other browsers also failed, so my mistake, it's not just Firefox.

So I would guess we are just both subject to routing fuckery that would go away on the use of a different VPN or such.
