502 outage that lasted for ten minutes earlier today at about 5:50 PM ET. Now a five-minute off-on 502 outage at about 9:20 PM ET.
 
I don't know if it's been asked before but I regularly get timeouts specifically visiting https://kiwifarms.st/whats-new/posts/

No other page has problems loading and KiwiFarms is up and functional, but "New Posts" just doesn't work. It will not work for a while and then start working again.

Is this some sort of by-design DDoS mitigation because "what's new" is basically a search function, or is this just a weird bug?
 
I'm seeing semiregular either 502s (or not even connecting to the server, just the default browser "not accessible" page). I don't know if there's a bad gateway in the rotation or what, but it seems to be gradually happening more often.
 
Trynna upload shit I archived off of Tiktok, and it's not making me happy. Stream is HEVC/HE-AAC, which has to be transcoded to AVC/AAC to be really web-ready. Uploads give up halfway through. hang at 100%, hang at post-100%, can't view it after it's uploaded, etc.

My theory is that this is an expensive call and is dealt with specially. But I notice this behaviour too.

502s (and chat disconnects) have been getting more and more frequent, and sometimes longer, lately. There have been several 502 outages lasting longer than ten minutes. It's been happening for, what, almost three weeks now? I guess this is the new reality

Update: .onion just eventually said “the connection has timed out”

I've been having DNS failures for kiwifarms.net. kiwifarms.st is okay. Not sure what is going on.
 
99% uptime would be a poor showing for any modern day web service. However is it really impressive for a sysadmin staff of 1 volunteer and half of all Internet resources actively hostile to the service.

While we're talking about Sneedchat, can anyone think of a reason why it comes up when I'm on my phone but can't connect when I'm on my laptop? I have a need, a need to sneed; specifically without being constantly bothered due to the anchor thing by touchscreen.
