my current one has 12 megabytes and should be triggering more epilepsy if thats the reason why, but fair enough.
Converted to animated webp and it's down from 12mb to 2.1mb, consider slowing the animation down as fast moving animations are kinda distracting.

I used FFMPEG to convert from animated gif to animated webp, it works but I guess there's probably a more refined solution.
ffmpeg -i input.gif -vcodec webp -loop 0 -pix_fmt yuva420p output.webp

Is there a way to filter a thread to just show all the posts by a particular user? I know there is the search function but that's not all that great for reading since you have to open them one by one. Or am I dumb and overlooking something?

you could also press the mouse wheel to open tabs from the message links. saves alot of time.

Yeah, but it would come in useful for threads like the Iran war thread where you had one user constantly posting high quality information and a lot of it. I've used all forums where there is a button on each post that you could hit which was "show all posts by user" and it would filter the thread to only show posts by the user so you could read them all chronologically. It's incredibly helpful particularly in threads where you want to keep track of the posts by the thread creator. I don't think it would be too technically difficult to implement and would be another good premium feature to entice people to buy in to the site.

It would be great if posts could be filtered in this way, it would save time and bandwidth.

I know you (Null) have spoken about this before but I don't remember the answer, so i'll ask again.

In the future would it be feasible to host an archival service for the farms a la archive.is? Logistically what would need to happen to make it feasible? I know it won't happen anytime soon because storage prices are out the ass, but hypothetically would it be possible to have our own system for backups and archival?

I know it's been posted about by others before, but a "the fuck you on about" reaction would be beneficial.
As it stands, there's no way to differenciate between "hmmm, interesting" and "I have no idea what you're talking about", which, especially with my activity on there being dispelling rumors and finding out new things about lolcows, is a major issue for me.

Can you please change the shortcut/alias for this emoticon? Whenever you type 8 followed by ), you get Chris Chan with sunglasses 8)
It happens when you type a list with numbered bullet points, like 1) 2) 3) etc. and when you type movie titles followed by release dates.

This isn't a technical grievance more the opposite, but I don't know where else to say this. The site right now is going faster for me than I think it has ever done. Using Tor, images load almost immediately, pages are like lightning. I don't know what has happened but it's incredibly responsive. I use a mix of clearnet and Tor depending on where I am and either way, it's going like shit off a shovel.

Having trouble making replies on desktop- I have to hit "reply" on somebody's post to get the reply box to appear, all the icons are missing, and I can't insert images. I have no issues posting on mobile. Is it just me or is this happening to other people too? Or is there an easy fix and I'm just too retarded to figure it out?

Control-F5 or Control-Shift-R to reload and clear cache, usually it's because a css or js file failed to load.

I'm having trouble uploading videos again. Anyone got a good/reliable solution to make them smaller?
