Feedback Technical Grievances

This has been happening to me regularly. I don't mind, but just thought I'd point it out. It goes away sometimes if I hard refresh. I'm using brave with ublock origin and disconnect. I usually browse in half-window mode (forum on one side, youtube/game on the other) so maybe that causes it?

Then block those particular people who actually abuse ratings, instead of rewarding some screeching autists who go whining onto profiles the instant they get even one negrate.

idk if this is the right forum, but private seems better for a ［private］ issue
it appears that attachments quoted in
Code: 
[private]
tags produce a 404 error when trying to open them. For example this post
quotes an attachment encapsulated in private tags. Trying to open this attachment directly while logged in produces a 404 error. The video in question is still accessible from the original post.

This private information is unavailable to guests due to policies enforced by third-parties.

Idk if this counts as a technical issue 'cause I'm a dinotard but I think it would make more sense to have the 'next highlight' button at the bottom, or at least both? Maybe I'm just lazy but when I'm done reading the page and decide I want to go to the next highlight rather than the next page I have to scroll back up to the top. Idk, just feels weird.

The feature where you get a warning that there are new posts on a thread while you're reading it doesn't work properly, its very unreliable and this causes you to stop getting bell notifications to said thread unless you find the thread and click on it to read the new posts.
Basically if you're reading a thread and someone makes a new post but you don't get a new post warning, you'll stop getting notifications for the thread.

There's usually a one line notice in the thread itself saying "new messages have been posting."

Also ratings in PMs are broken again, at least in Brave. I'm not seeing ratings from anyone else either so it probably is actually broken, and if I try to use the actual html code for rating it I get a Server Error after about a minute or so. Yeah, I know, what's new.

ETA: I don't know if nol did anything but they're working now, at least to the extent they were previously (i.e. the javascript is still slightly wonky and only lets me add like via the button but works with manually entering the html).

It's really hard to tell the difference between threads you have read and threads you have not read on the watched threads page.

While you do have a little circle that gets filled in if there are new posts, its not nearly a visually clear as this:

Which is what it looks like in each thread's subforum.

The circle could really do with being coloured with the user's selected theme to make it easier to see rather than grey on a slightly-darker grey background.

Try pressing Ctrl+F5 in Brave when you get that message.
 
Attachments and some avatars aren’t displaying on mobile for me.

EDIT; Huh, looks like it’s working now.

When I paste image data, it says that it uploaded and attached, and it shows up in the post, but once I post, the attachment isn't available anymore.

Usually when I edit the post and re-paste the same exact image, it works the second time.

edit: I tried to reproduce it in this post, but of course it worked properly the first time now.

Prior to the theme change, while typing a reply to a thread if new replies were added an alert would pop up and prompt if you want to read them. Now that only pops up for me periodically.

people have been complaining about this for years. it's an intermittent issue and I don't watch enough threads to see it.

edit: no this feature definitely still works.
