Commercial Broadcasting and Public Access, also known as Free-to-Air TV here in Australia, is known for producing some of the worst Mass Media to be consumed by the Public.

So I'd like to dedicate this thread to discussing the bad shit on TV, from shitty sensationalist tabloid shows masquerading as News to Bottom-of-the-Barrel reality TV, as well as how long Legacy Media (particularly Television as we know it) has left until it's replaced by something else.

I don't have a link to it because it's an add from the Midwest which is always 10 years behind the rest of America--But I saw this add that involved poor green screen affects with women wearing Dollar Tree quality super hero outfits. I don't even remember what they were advertising.
The Midwest has tons of cheap, badly made adds that haunt news stations.

Half the ads on Channel 9 here in Australia is either for this show, or

You guys remember the Jesus Chatline? Not sure if it was public access and I think they were trolling to a degree but man was it a blast tuning in.

This was a thing for the first few years of the 2000s in Seattle Public Access
Because it was public access, and it aired at like 11 at night, no one bothered calling the FCC on their swearing

It's called Jerkbeast, where you call a number and you try to out insult the Jerkbeast. It was popular enough that it got funding for a direct to dvd movie.

This aired on Winsted, CT public access.
The first episode with more explanations about the snow queen stuff.

Public Access was very much a thing in the US during cable TV's heyday of the 70's and 80's. This was because many operators offered brokered time slots for anyone to pay just to have a show at all, though this could vary from place to place depending on who or what was involved. YouTube obviously replaced that today, but it's fun looking back at the history of this and see how it developed.

These two clips will never grow tired for me!

I was trying to collect all the Jerkbeast episodes and I'm noticing about two years too late that the guys that originally did Jerkbeast went nuclear and scrubbed the internet of the show's existence.

Looks like they went full idubbbz and want Jerkbeast locked away forever because The Wrong People™ like it.

jerkbeast.com is now just a statement jerking themselves off that they've grown out of the humor and implying that when they did edgy humor it was okay because they understood the greater societal implications of it, but everybody else is just too dumb to view a foam monster calling someone a faggot without succumbing to homo bloodlust and committing hate crimes.
