I just don't get the model Y. It's huge, but it's not roomy. The frame is big for the sake of being big. It's american as fuck and yet it's everywhere here.

Take a model 3 and make the cabin taller. That's pretty much all it is, the drive train and everything below a sitting waist is effectively the same car.

The only big advantage is trunk space (because the tiny sedan trunk opening is a no go for many), and seat height.

Skoda enyaq is the same. MASSIVE on the outside but three adults can sit side by side.

The Nissan Ariya was such a huge flop to the point that Nissan has cancelled it from the US market.

It was the definition of "basic cookie cutter EV SUV" that did nothing special.

Xiaomi has recalled over 115,000 SU7s for autopilot safety issues.

I have it on good authority that Nissan’s training material says they only made the Ariya because of government regulation. Nissan doesn’t want to make or sell it, nobody wants to buy it, but it makes the greenoid technocrat class happy, so here we are.

The loosening on fuel economy standards and tariffs in the US were the final nail in the coffin for the Ariya in the US, as Nissan will still sell it elsewhere. I haven't heard anything about it getting even average sales outside of the US though.

But but but journalists tell us regurgitated PR pieces that say electric best and they’ll take over.

Wait shit.

Owners of Neta cars have reported that they lost internet connectivity with their cars, and that they would need to purchase a data plan to get it back. Also, since Neta went into bankruptcy, the car warranties are now void, and owners can't get replacement parts for them:

Pretty funny seeing even normies try to partake in the conversation about their Tesla and how they bought it before he went "crazy". Rarely do they actually know what he went "crazy" about other than uhh, twitter something or other.
We always knew he was crazy. Reddit brained I FUCKING LOVE SOYENCE types were always creaming their pants about him.

Shaking things up a bit:

A Dodge Charger EV Driver Got a Ticket for a Loud Exhaust

tl;dr cop cited a driver for having an overly loud muffler and disturbing the peace after a completely different car does a burnout at a traffic light. EV was in "auto mode" due to low battery, meaning it was quiet as a mouse. Cop refused to listen when the driver tried to tell him it was an EV.

I'm torn between wanting to mock someone who drives an EV "supercar" and wanting total pigger death.
Almost three months since the stop, Mike told us that he hasn’t yet paid the fine nor fought it because “the case number is not in [the court’s] system,” even though the citation itself requires a court appearance. “I have called the courthouse every week for the last 10 weeks trying to schedule the court date/appearance, and still nothing,” Mike said.
Uhh he's about to be in a world of hurt. Yeah the ticket is obviously wrong, but he should have hired a traffic lawyer (he undoubtedly got dozens of solicitations) to take care of it.

Xiaomi responded to this incident and released their investigation findings, saying that this is intended behavior, as "it moved due to a remote parking assistant request to bring the car forward". / Archive

The user's response to it does make it sound like that Xiaomi threatened to disappear him and his family, if he said otherwise:

“Statement: I am the owner involved. The information provided above is accurate. The Xiaomi Auto team verified all data with me in person and confirmed no errors. Thank you to the Xiaomi team for their professionalism and service. Please don’t spread false claims. Thank you.”

Tesla did make a strange design decision to add a headliner on the Model Y Standard trim, but kept the glass roof on it. Tesla claims that this is cheaper to do than adding a metal roof, but that wouldn't explain why the Model 3 Standard trim keeps the glass roof as is without the added headliner.

An Avatr 06 EV caught fire in China earlier this week. / Archive

The car was purchased in August and had only over 1000 km of mileage at the time of the fire. Some people have said that either the accessories on the center console concentrated the light to cause a fire, or a perfume bottle in the car ignited, but I haven't heard anything of those causing fires in non-Chinese cars before, I think.
