Very important information, thanks Metal Archives.

Yeah I got banned from there after making less than 10 posts.
I've been tempted to write something up on them for awhile but I don't have the time with work and school to do so. It's connected to the metal subreddit as well which has a complete ban on posting songs or albums from various bands. A rule in their discord server is that you can only post songs from bands that are on metal archive and you're not allowed to post memes without summoning feast of blaze, the god of metal archive, reddit and discord.

We have a thread about Metal Archives but it's not like a lolcow thread with a well-written introduction to the topic or so.

I don't know why YT would recommend me this but for those interested; a new Ministry album got released.

Anyone check out the new Bruce Dickinson album? Just heard the singles so far. Afterglow and Eternity are great songs, but Rain on the Graves was pretty lame, and not at all what I want to hear from him. Hoping the local record shop has copies in so I can grab it this weekend.

Probably would have missed it wouldn't you have posted about it.

Too modern sound for my taste. Songwriting seems more average than noticable or outstanding to me. It's not like that the songs would be aweful but the whole album just felt very generic. Tbf tho it would be kind of stupid to expect some revolutionary here. Dude is 65 and achieved everything possible and tbf again he still deliviers vocalwise. Funny that you say that about Rain on the Graves bc that was the first song that tickled me a little bit while I think the first two songs are pretty lame compared to Rain on the Graves. Resurrection Men is the song that stuck most with me after I finished the album.
But overall, the sound is the biggest turn off for me. Too thick, too polished, too modern. Not my cup of tea.

Pestilence is releasing an album of re-recorded songs from their past albums (which smells like a cash grab to me, but that's beside the point), and after receiving a serious backlash over the AI-generated cover art, they changed it.

Original cover on the left, new cover on the right. Not that I'd ever buy it-I haven't listened to anything they've done after Spheres.

I was wondering when something like that would happen. It looks better than those 3D renders that were a thing circa 2000, but if you want to go cheap, just use some classy public domain art like Morbid Angel or Burzum. Wait until a band gets caught using AI to write their music. It's only a matter of time.
