So the word on the street is that next years festival ticket prices will go even higher than this years.
Do you guys think this is a big issue?
I think it is, not for me or the people around me, but for the youth. is the greed cutting of the next generation of fans?

In the 90's black metal faggots burned churches in Norway because they were built on sacred pagan land, in the 2020's black metal leftists and indigenous activists do similar things because churches were built on sacred Indian land.

Don't fool yourself into thinking there's anything fundamentally insensitive, based or thick-skinned about black metal. Their targets are just different.

That twink from Watain wouldn't let Otargos sell their "No God, No Satan" shirts on tour, and stabbed someone in the band over it. They spend 99% of their energy attacking Christianity but leave their anti-Islamic and Jewish rants to rec rooms and anonymous forums. Black metal is and always will be the safe space for faggots just of a different flock.

Depends on which festivals and which countries you look at I guess.

I can only speak about festivals in Germany (bc of my own experience as ex-organizer and bc I know people) and the situation has rarely to do with greed on the organization side. The explanation for rising ticket prices is pretty simple and dull: 1. Covid and 2. literally everything is getting more expensive.

yeah but covid is over and has been for almost 2 years.
Also the inflation for everything involved in running a big event is below the average inflation while Ticketprice inflation is much higher than the inflation rate.
MY guess is that all big festivals try tp push their numbers right now to get a higher sell price for whent hey sell out like Wacken.

We're accustomed to flaky behavior, but whining about bands for violating Google's code of conduct seems new-ish. At least at this volume.

It's not like Absu is doing songs about massacring trannies, either (last I checked... they may be inspired to start). It's just internal band politics, leaked DMs, the usual bog standard cancel culture gay drama.

I think it's less about hurt feelings and more reveling in the commie power trip of having dissenters silenced. They're not afraid of Absu attracting hordes of militant transphobes, not really. They're doing it because they know they're completely safe.

For a long time I thought this band was mostly just a meme but they're actually playing the UK's Offal Fest next year?
