I wasn't sure whether to post about this here or in a rap thread, but whatever.
Has anyone seen this single floating around that, evidently, is by Corporate Avenger? The same band that hasn't been heard from for around two decades?

I can't find any info about it online to even verify that it's the same people/band. Can't lie, it kinda bangs.

Recently, I've been listening to fellow countrymen Sarcófago. I.N.R.I and The Laws of Scourge albums are absolute bangers.

Also, I've never given much attention to Immortal but they also have some awesome tracks such as this one:

There's this band called Ancient whom I listened only one song: Lilith's Embrace.

Between this MV and The Call of the Wintermoon MV I can't decide which one is goofier.

Here's another Ancient "classic" to help you decide:
Immortal have made some genuinely good shit despite their goofball tendencies but Ancient after the debut was pretty much all the worst traits (both musical and visual) of late 90s BM rolled into an enchilada. But hey, they wrote a song about the Diablo franchise long before computer geekery became accepted in the scene (The Ancient Haradrim, off Proxima Centauri).

Posted this in 'what are you listening to' thread. Not thought about it in like.... Maybe close on 10y!

I haven't thought about this in YEARS.
I can't seen to find one that will embed properly, FFS, tried like 4 now..,.

Tursias - Battle Metal

Some good old Viking inspired metal.... Not super heavy, folk metal-ish...

The link you posted is acting up with me so here's another:
This brings me melancholy for some reason, the music rather than the video. Maybe my childhood of wanting to go on epic adventures instead of...well that's unimportant, point is thanks for posting. Shame they stopped but maybe it was for the best.

Witcher inspired?

This song, yeah. But it's just this song, not all of their songs. At least as far as I'm aware. Not that familiar with the Witcher stuff. I know it exists and played the 2nd video game (never finished it tho) and stopped watching the tv series during season 2 bc I thought it sucked.

I had written off Whitechapel as another band that went nu-prog/alternative in an effort to keep the lights on, but I'll give them props for saying "they're going back to their roots" and actually meaning it. This oozes MySpace era Deathcore and is much heavier than their latest offerings.

If nothing else, it can shut zoomers up about Will Ramos (Lorna Shore) being the best vocalist ever.

Some random albums I've been listening to

Running Wild will forever be known among the youth for being the band that inspired Gelal Necrosodomy's music style. Tried to listen to Running Wild some years back. But found it far too boring and primitive.

In terms of music I've been listening to lately. I've been on a huge Spear Of Longinus kick.

It's not not a punk band.

I must admit, I've never been much of a Mayhem fan, but I do think De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas is a solid album. "Freezing Moon" is definitely an earworm of a song. It even sounds good as a synthwave song.
Mayhem are at their best when they're performing DMDS live. Can't really get into their other albums and I don't even have to return to the studio version of DMDS when the far superior live versions exist.
This concert is great, with my favorite version of the title track. Love how Atilla sounds like he's chanting now, with some throat singing mixed in. He's truly gotten better with age.
Life Eternal is another standout for me.

Now for something completely different. I'm gonna be seeing Jag Panzer in December so here's one of their classics.

I saw them play live around the time of that concert you posted, and they were killer. I managed to shove my way front and center, and clinging to the fence to resist the pressure from all the bodies surging behind me during climaxes was quite an experience.

I had had my misgivings because metalheads on Facebook were calling them a cover band who couldn't capture the energy of DMDS live, but I know now that they were fucking stupid. Also, let's not pretend that DMDS was some perfect gem, a cover band doing a great job but tripping over their instruments would approximate some of the vibe of the album.
